Why isn't Obama denying Amir Taheri's charges?
He admited to it in June to MSNBC!

We've discovered an MSNBC article which directly contradicts Obama's defense of his negotiations with the Iraq government.

Taheri layed out the Obama spin in today's followup to his Monday article:

The Obama campaign has objected [to my assertions]. While its statement says my article was "filled with distortions," the rebuttal actually centers on a technical point: the differences between two Iraqi-US accords under negotiation - the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA, to set rules governing US military personnel in Iraq) and the Strategic Framework Agreement (SFA, to settle the legal basis for the US military presence in Iraq in the months and years ahead).

The Obama camp says I confused the two. It continues: "On the Status of Forces Agreement, Sen. Obama has always said he hoped that the US and Iraq would complete it - but if they did not, the option of extending the UN mandate should be considered.

What did Obama himself say in June?

Barack Obama secretly met with Iraqi leaders during his trip and tried to get them to stall agreements on US troop deployments. The Obama campaign said that the NY Post writer was "confused". They should have first read what Obama told MSNBC about the meetings in June.

Looks like Amir Taheri had his facts straight.

I wouldn’t have expected Obama to blatantly try to get Iraqi leaders to delay the agreements. His campaign’s attempts to spin this is only creating new problems.

When I clicked on this thread hoped to find this story was being covered by some of the major media. Still waiting for that to happen. Rush did call for an investigation today.

That’s a good point...this won’t be the last you hear of this...at least from us.

Having covered John Edwards for 8 months when the MSM didn’t ask Edwards one single question about it was very instructive about these types of stories.
