BILL Clinton will spend an hour on "The View" this Monday.
And it promises to be a more clubby atmosphere than the one Cindy McCain says she and husband John McCain experienced on the show last week.
Cindy McCain, in fact, slammed "The View" and its co-hosts for having "picked our bones clean" after the couple's Sept. 12 appearance on the ABC gabfest.
"In spite of what you see . . . that's not what the American people are saying and what they are believing," she said at a GOP dinner in Michigan the following day.
She was upset over the line of questioning and comments from "The View" co-hosts, who interviewed John McCain first before bringing her out to join him.
At one point, when McCain said that, if elected president, he wanted to appoint Supreme Court judges who "enforce" and "interpret" the constitution, Whoopi Goldberg shot back, "Do I have to be worried about becoming a slave again?"
And Joy Behar called two of McCain's campaign ads attacking Barack Obama - for his "lipstick on a pig" remark and his views on sex education for children - "untrue . . . lies."
But things are shaping up to be a bit more chummy for Clinton, who's making his first-ever appearance on "The View."
For starters, he has a longstanding friendship with Goldberg, who was very palsy with Bill and Hillary Clinton during their White House years.
Earlier this year, Goldberg endorsed Hillary Clinton's presidential run - after initially backing Barack Obama.

I don’t know why the McCains went on that stupid show with those airheads.
The harpies will have their kneepads on for Billy Jeff.
John McCain will have the last laugh in Jan ‘09.

I’m sure they will handle Bill’s bone in the back room.
It was a tactical mistake for the McCains to appear on “The View”.
I rarely watch ‘the View’ but i made an exception because the McCains were the guests. The harpies were like a pack of wolves asking questions and not giving enough time for them to respond, constantly interrupting or just downright asking dumb questions. I was embarrassed for them yet i thought that John and Cindy held their composure well despite the feeding frenzy.
Next time I read word of another Girl Gang beating up another girl, I'll know they are "The View" fans.
More like a pack of hyenas.
The View thought they were doing a great service to "America" by behaving as girl thugs (Obama girl goon squad) to their guests, the McCains.
There was nothing intelligent or reasonable in their treatment of the McCains.
I disagree. It shows the “true colors” of the View and the political motives of the show...Just like Opra.
It’s unfortunate that Walters could not bring herself to extend the same courtesy to McCain as she had to Fidel Castro ~ who had her giggling like a schoolgirl.
One man sat in a prison for 5 years for this nation and the other is a mass murderer and tyrant who will be among the top ten rogues of the 20th century.
What is wrong with these people?
“Disgusting” is right!
I watched the View maybe a dozen or so times a year. I won't ever again. These womyn embarass me.
Aw, come on, The View ‘hostesses’ were just following orders to get in their faces.
Serial Monicas and I wouldn’t count on it being confined to the back room. They aren’t intelligent enough to be ashamed.
She thinks McCain will win, will serve only one term and that she'll be running against Palin in 2012. This will be after 12 years of Republicans. The country will be set for change. And the party will have learned their lesson about throwing their support behind a green up-and-comer rather than a proven war horse.
Hillary still wants to be the first woman US President. This is all part of her campaign.
I am with you on this. They had to know it was going to be a hostile environment.
I like Elizabeth Hasselbeck, but she is a lightweight.
