Sources: Intense Pressure Led To Palin UN Snub CBS 2 HD Has Learned Democrats Threatened To Attack Jewish Groups' Tax Exempt Status Over VP Nominee Invite

Reporting Marcia Kramer NEW YORK (CBS) ― Hillary Clinton won't be speaking at Monday's anti-Iran rally at the United Nations -- and neither will Republican Sarah Palin or any other politicians for that matter.

The reason? A heated behind the scenes tug-of-war.

Sources tell CBS 2 HD that a decision to disinvite Palin from the high profile rally after Clinton pulled out in a huff came as the result of intense pressure from Democrats.

"This is insulting. This is embarrassing, especially to Gov. Palin, to me and I think it should be to every single New Yorker," Assemblyman Dov Hikind, D-Brooklyn, told CBS 2 HD.

Sources say the axes were out for Palin as soon as Sen. Clinton pulled out because she did not want to attend the same event as the Republican vice presidential candidate.

"I have never seen such raw emotion -- on both sides," said someone close to the situation.

I’m still hoping that Sarah Palin shows up in the group of those demonstrating against Ackmoodineedajob.

I do believe that God is still considered a friend of Israel, since He still call Israel my people Israel.

This would be a good question for The Great One, Mark Levin. I’ve often wondered about it myself.

Good idea!

That's what Rush reported, too, Eva. Rush says it's Soros who is behind this:

All they care about is politics, so let's defeat them.

A lot of Jews are not liberals and some liberals will be bailing on Obama the red. One of my friends, who is a died in the wool Democrat, is now voting for McCain. His wife is still a local precinct worker for Obama, but this is a major defection.

My friend is afraid of Obama and his policies of appeasement.

More of my religious brethren are waking up to the threat that Obama poses for America, as well as for Israel and for Judaism, because of the rising tide of Islamofascism, and his inability to recognize it and to do anything effective against it.

Since one of his Middle East advisors was the son of a Soviet agent, Malley (the founder of the Egyptian Communist Party, which was est. by the KGB and CPSU’s International Department) in the 1940’s, and other of his advisors are anti-Israel, you will be seeing more defections from the Jewish liberal ranks as people begin to see who Obama really is.

I’m with the group of Jews who always opposed the communists/socialists/leftist since the 1960’s and we are finally getting our messages thru.

This fiasco re the UN protest against mini-Hitler is showing up the Democratic Jewish group as fools and KAPOS.
It is really hurting Obama, Hillary Clinton, and the Democrats where it hurts, in their voting base.

Remember Marian Anderson (?spelling) singing on the steps of that concert hall in Washington DC, when the DAR denied her the right to perform? Sarah should speak on the steps outside the damn conference.

ptooey. I guess liberal American Jews like being bullied by thugs. Must make them feel wanted, or something equally neurotic.

I’m surprised that WCBS reported this.

NOTHING will penetrate the minds of the really liberal New York Jews. But I think this will anger more than a few of them, and tip the balance further toward McCain.

I notice that Obama is not mentioned anywhere in this article. I find it difficult to believe that anything this public and controversial would have been done without consulting his advisers.

Their worst nightmare is any form of nationalism.

I didn’t think it needed a </sarc> tag.

It was a poke at ABC and their biases, not so much at Nixon, and certainly not at all towards Quakers.

The quakers and mennonites were hosting a reception for the Persian dog.. It was a different thing than the Jewish organized demonstration altogether.

It's the same reporter who did the Charlie Rangel story. Poor gal will be fired by Monday.

AMEN!!!

It would be the right thing to do, look presidential, shake things up and scare the bejeezus out of the Obama folks and the press (but I repeat myself). Frankly, the USSS would have a cow, but that is their job.

(look at my vanity!) Steve Schmidt, if you are reading this: puh-leeze make this happen. It would be the media event of the election.
