Are there really enough "local bars" up there to make a living singing in them? Perhaps they consider Greenville, Spartanburg, Columbia & Charlotte as local.

Yep. Travelers Rest area would include Greenville/Spartanburg. They are all very close. Spartanburg is only 30 minutes from the east side of Greenville.

We have an Aaron Tippin Drive in Greer and they consider him a home-town boy although Travelers Rest isn't quite Greer (but BRHS is quite close).
