The biggest problem with breed specific ordinances is that it’s difficult to say what a pit bull is. We think we know what a pit looks like, but bulldogs, boxers and other such breeds are often identified as pit bulls (and not all animal control personel know the difference). And what about a pit/lab mix? Is that a pit bull?
