Jeff Birnbaum on FOX News just said that the Dems (and some Repubs) are reneging on support for a 'clean' Financial bill, as agreed to on Friday. They want handouts to the general population too. This may mean NO BAILOUT before the election.

Hope you folks all have full cupboards, this may be a rough ride.

I just yank'em....LOL

I think the safe hardware removal tool is a obsolete artifact, but since MS continues to support some really old stuff, like from 1995, they leave themselves open to some really old problems. This is the weakness that Apple nuts exploit, and frankly speaking, it;s a gift from MS and I appreciate it cuz I have some really old stuff that I still cling to.....LOL

No. Just sick of the bickering. Never liked ‘The Bickersons’ with Don Ameche on the radio either.

If this gets bogged down for more than a few short hours, God will not be able to fix it, much less any amount of federal backstopping. IMO

Anybody ever seen Annie, based on the 'Little Orphan Annie' cartoon strip? Great Depressions are not a lot of fun.

Interesting, hate to say or even infer it but when you get a group like the dirty dems that are willing to sacrifice the nation at any cost for political gain(just look at what they do in energy) you have to fight fire with fire.

I know that we as the responsible adults and are willing to do the right thing but they are not. They have to be spanked each and every time.

Let the spanking begin. This entire mess tracks back to them If they want it all aired out let's do it.

Time for the ADM.,The New Media and everyone who stands for what is right for the country to stand up and kick some serious butt.

Well, it's gonna persist until rodguy911 learns how to defend his positions without resorting to boorish, bullying, name calling, threatening tactics.

The electorate has forgotten a lot of things, and the generation after the depression, as in my parents, did little to pass on the knowledge and lessons of that era, and the school essentially have ignored it for two decades now.

All this makes for some very populist and frankly ignorant people.

I Just don't get how AIG links to the world and not saving it jeopardizes all, must be a heck of a lot more to it than just bad loans and clueless borrowers.

A lot of it has to do with derivative contracts that are based on the bad loans. One example is Credit Default Swaps, in which AIG was very heavily invested.

(Lending companies like to obtain insurance against the possibility of their borrowers defaulting. These insurance contracts can be made into "securities" that trade on the market. If the holder of the underlying mortgage defaults on the mortgage, then the party that holds the "insurer" part of the transaction is on the hook.)

One of the reasons that AIG was in so much trouble, was that it held so many of these Credit Default Swaps, the counterparties of which were all over the world.

Good grief! Take your petty bickering off the thread. There are adults who have more important things to discuss. I wish I had been the one to hit the abuse button.

Later; Bloomberg again:"It's important to remember that if we want services, we have to pay for them." Is that the same as a balanced budget? That's a concept I don't hear much on thees shows.

Unlike the federal government, NYC, by law, has to have a balanced budget.

Geeezzz!

I guess you will learn that. Like many, including myself, some things are learned the hard way, in spite of good and free advice.

We start the ball rolling and then Rush, Sean and Mark kick it out of the stadium tomorrow.

Yes, I know what you mean. I would only add that sometimes folks on this thread can give even the great Rush, Sean and Mark a run for their money.
