Absolutely GWB wanted to change the tone of Washington but believed others did as well because they said they did. Naive in a way and surprising seeing the back ground he came from, maybe the bottom line is he wanted to believe it.
McCain maverick attitude will shake things up and he will not worry whose toes he treads on especially as President.

Dubya knows that he has to work with these hatemongers in Congress.
They would spite the country to get back at the President for any perceived slight.

The GOP would be better off if Bush would speak out when he is attacked. He has not helped the GOP and that is why we have a Democrat Senate and Congress.
