Obama Campaign Gives Up on North Dakota
Sunday, September 21, 2008 | Kristinn

The presidential campaign of Democrat Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois has shrunk its original 18 battleground states strategy to 16 today with word that it is pulling staff from the 11 campaign offices in North Dakota and sending them to other states.

Just this week, Obama campaign manager released a map of Obama's battleground states that included North Dakota's 3 electoral college votes as still being contested by the campaign.

However, a recent poll by the American Research Group showed Obama's Republican rival Sen. John McCain of Arizona leading 52 to 43 percent. A recent Rasmussen poll has the race in North Dakota 55 to 41 in favor of McCain.

The Associated Press quoted Obama spokewoman Amy Brundage confirming the abandonment of North Dakota by Obama.

The other battleground state Obama gave up on was Alaska after McCain chose that state's popular governor, Sarah Palin, as his running mate.

I haven't seen much election activity here in Augusta Georgia, a few minor ads and thats it. I really don't think Georgia is in play for Obama.

Obama was running almost even in North Dakota for a while. The state is not uniformally conservative.

And Remember, the First Dude, Todd, is part Native American (Yup'ik Eskimo tribe, I believe) so there are more Native American Indian connections for the McCain-Palin ticket.

While Obama has only been given a funny name by the American Indian tribe he visited a few months ago. They named him "Walking Eagle." When the tribe leader was asked by a reporter later what that meant, it was explained that it meant a bird that can't fly! And, Obama, as niave as he is, thought it was a compliment! LOLOLOL

The Native Americans are definately not in Obama's teepee. They just let him talk, but have a clear insight about his "forked-tongue," something they are keen to observe. There is a whole website by them denouncing him for POTUS.

Yeah. Obama just HATES abortion survivors—and the entire population of North and South Dakota have survived Roe v. Wade.

My home state of North Dakota is rather interesting in a political sense. It usually votes overwhelming Republican
but from time to time for various reasons Democrats do get elected and once elected they devote considerable time and effort to constituent services. Some years ago I attend the commissioning ceremony of the son of a friend who had graduated from West Point. Then Congressman Byron Dorgan was there-his speech would have made most FREEPERS proud. He votes differently from his speeches back home.

Also, ND is a caucus state and Obama has done well in that environment. And finally, the leadership of the ND Democratic Party are experienced at all levels of politically organizing and know how to win elections and GOTV.But I don't think Obama ever had a chance. I don't know the numbers now; but on at least one of the colleges, the college Republicans out numbered the college Democrats

It just occurred to me that, since he is not a lady, Todd Palin can keep his “first dude” title once his wife is Vice President.

Yep, ObamaNation’s got serious problems with all kinds of Americans.

When lady de Rothschilde thinks HE’s elitist, you know the Obama ship was taking on water when it left the harbor.

So when he strikes the McCain iceberg during the first debates (on national security), it’ll already be a sinking ship.

Being a North Carolina bitter clinger native let me say:

Obama we never lost hope in America in the first place...

so why don’t you and your ugly wife that’s never been proud of America in her whole life take your happy narrow asses back to the Chicago hood where y’all came from!

The Obama campaign is a make work program.

Isn't that the truth. I love the term leeches as it describes them 100%!

They've effectively pulled out of Georgia as well.

There is going to be a LOT of second-guessing his strategy if he loses the election narrowly.
