Ten? Must be all of the Black Sea fleet that can still sail.

It doesn't say what sort of warships. Patrol boats or small missile boats would be my guess. Maybe an old frigate or destroyer to shepherd them along.

Oh, this comes from DEBKA.

The basic story is from the UPI, only the part about the Israelis being surprised comes from DEBKA.

As close as that port is to Israel (it's just north of the Lebanese border with Syria, and considering how far any boats or ships would have to sail out of the Black Sea, pretty much right through downtown Istanbul, the chances of the Israelis not noticing are slim to none. I guess it's possible they didn't have advance notice of their sailing, but once they sailed, they'd have know pretty much what and where they were.

Right, and how’s he supposed to know who did it? Do you really think that we’re supposed to let them know about our deeds afterwards?

Why start a war if you're not willing to advertise it?
