How absurd.
Do American executives not fly for face to face meeting in America when there is no need at all to do so with videoconferencing?
Plus, they were probably to meet some American muckymucks in the hotel, two DoD types died in the blast.
first report was that the truck was turned away from the Parliament or Presidential House nearby.
Purpose - a cassus belli for martial law, and then the Pakistani Army could continue its double games.
However, this nugget of information means there was those in the Government actively helping the jihadis and tipping them off to a crucial meeting at the Marriott. Perhaps meeting with some American liasons, and two DIA types died at the hotel blast.
And, considering the nature of Islamabad, how did a bomb truck make it through the security cordons of the city without some VERY VERY high level help. Like the breakdown of the security cordon around Benazir.
I finger ISI, the bright side being that ISI, in its goal to preserve and save the Pakistani State, may very well end up setting the motion the very forces that could tear it apart.
Pakistan - making Kremlinology and Saudiology look like transparent exercises!
I read about Kremlinology in the past. One thing, how to read “Pravda”, that despite it’s propaganda, it was actually a good news source. You have to know how to read between the lines, start reading at the end of articles, not the beginning, how names near anonymously sourced statements are the leakers.
I remember this because they are helpful skills in decoding New York Times articles. No joke.
That was 7 years ago... things change. Oh boy... how they have changed!

>>did Pakistan grant permission for the Marriot bombing a coupla days ago?
Post above for my take.
The Pakistani Military/ISI certainly did.
