I also suggest if you put a yard sign, put up motion or heat sensitive game tracking camera to snap a pick of anyone who gets near your sign. With any luck you will be able to identify the perp and cause them big trouble.....

The Republican Central Committee of Washington County says just 12 hours after they put up a McCain/Palin sign on Maryland Route 68 this past Saturday, someone burned it.
The party says this isn't the first time signs have been vandalized.
Two years ago during Michael Steele’s run for senate and former governor Robert Erhlich's gubernatorial election, campaign signs were sliced up with box cutters.
Campaign volunteers say there's a message behind the burning signs.
"I think what it says is that the Democratic party in Washington County is frustrated. This is a Republican county and we expect to get 70 percent for John McCain and Sarah Palin on November 4th, and while I can certainly understand their frustration, acts of vandalism, arson should not be tolerated, and are not only potentially criminal but a civil rights violation," said Mark Boyer, a McCain/Palin sign chairman.

Do what I’m doing. Rub your signs with poison ivy. My sign was trashed last night. I’m watchin’ all my neighbors and their kids to see who shows up covered in Calamine Lotion. And,,, they won’t know how they got it. And next time they trash my sign, they’ll get it again!
As was the case in Milwaukee in 2004, there will be no formal investigation and prosecution because this is being perpetrated against those rich, intolerant Republicans.
I’ve been tempted to buy a whole lot of red “N” stickers to “modify” any Obambi signs and stickers I see....

WRONG. I live in this county, and have had signs vandalised in 2004 and 06.I would NOT have agreed to an interview about it either. I just hid in the bushes with a Beeman.
The Eau de skunk will keep them away for sure. I’m an old deer hunter and have used it many times to mask my human stink. I’ve also played some great practical jokes with it. My buddy’s Corvette tires for one. After the poison ivy, I will hook up a fish line to a switch operating a flashbulb. Should scare the cr@p outa the neighborhood kids!
Two problems with that.
They need not touch the sign if they are setting fire to it or defacing it with spray paint.
Not everyone is allergic to poison ivy.
