Let’s all don’t forget that Obama’s CAMPAIGN FINANCE DIRECTOR has actually been investigated for her involvement in this mess. She owned one of the SUBPRIME MORTGAGE BANKS THAT WENT UNDER!!

This is just the typical liberal media spin machine at work to protect Obama......DON’T FALL FOR IT!!

How about property taxes being eliminated this year for those who paid mortgages on time? Now that is a bail out I can get behind!

Oh man. This is not good. Either Davis was lying to McCain- or McCain lied.

Free clue for FBI researchers:
Good day Agent:
There were 13 attempts in Congress, or by the Bush Administration, since 2001, to investigate and attempt to control Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The most formal of these is S.190 Senator McCain 2005 Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs (in the current congress it’s S.1100), which was killed in the senate committee. Jot down the names of those senators who fought the bill in committee.

Securities guaranteed by these 2 entities are the heart of the issue with all these financial firms, and you will find them on the books of all the corps, including the GSEs, and incuding all the defaulted banks, and AIG Corp.
Many members of Congress received “contributions” from these GSEs, several of whom actively resisted many attempts mentioned above.
Get out a notebook, or Lotus 1-2-3 (I know you guys are probably running 386 PCs). Jot down the dates when the 13 attempts above were stopped, and compare those dates to the “contributions” dates for each Senator or Representative.
You have the research teams, I’m confident the Agency can round up this information within a couple months (/sarc).
Now, IF THE DATES LINE UP, that might be an indication of, well, something being awry.
Please remember, BOTH SIDES of a conspiracy to defraud are liable.
The charge is: Racketeering under the RICO statutes, Collusion, and Bribery.

The FBI is investigating them, and Obama proposes just handing over our money to them.

I wonder how the media will cover for him this time?

I wonder if this entire financial crisis was orchestrated for political reasons.

Same here.

The timing of this financial crisis is suspicious.

I heard it reported today by the MSM that this mess will keep us in the recession we are in for a long time. Huh?

Possibly not orchestrated but accelerated. Bush may just be cleaning up house while he is in power allowing McCain/Palin to play the good guys.

It will be interesting to see how the FBI investigation that starts now gets completed under the guidance of Palin!

Very interesting! The timing of this financial crisis aka ponzi scheme was indeed accelerated.

It should not surprise us at all, given the players involved and past experience. In fact, I tend to think the timing was influenced.

Great. Let Dem policies (Andrew Cuomo's to be precise) force a certain percentage [50%] of mortgages to go to low-income folks, and when the companies fail as a result, blame the party that opposed such irresponsible regulatory policies.

I’m for a bailout, if we can get the perpetrators of this mess executed by dawn.

Who do you think should be our new Secretary of the Treasury? Bear in mind he needs to start work tomorrow.

I was really hoping that Bush was taking these actions to clean things up that he knew was in bad shape (and why) in sufficient time for the chickens to come home to roost prior to election day.

First Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac emergency bailout

Then passing the paper for the $700T "bail out"

Congress and Obama have been twisting in the wind and the MSM have been given enough time to pinpoint the root of the problem... ...Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac lack of control.

Both Bush & McCain have the clear documented record of having identified the problem 5 and 3 years ago with the Dems insisting there was no problem.

Lastly, the $700T "bail out" (if every goes well and the housing market recovers) turns into a briding loan with potentially large interest payments made within 2-4 years.

The public will then have seen the true colors of the officials and we may be whole again.

Our government, especially the feckless imbeciles at the FBI - have the uncanny ability to inspect the barn, after the horses have run off, the hay has been stolen, the rats have eaten the grain, the tack room robbed by kids, the tools taken by the neighbors and the damned barn burned to the concrete footings..

Yep, they’re really on the ball...

I guess they'll pull agents off the trail of some 7/11 store robbers or even pull the agents off a prostitution ring to prosecute the thieves who generated a $700 BILLION scam.

Imagine that?

Obama’s campaign got a LOT more money than McCain’s campaign got from Mad Uncle Freddie.

This the same FBI that’s investigating Billy Bub Clinotn and half of his Cabinet appointees selling our country to Chinese military intelligence in the 1990’s?

How’s that investigation going these days? Have they finished going through Hazel O’Learys travel vouchers?

Here's hoping the FBI agents invoke the spirit of Jimmie Stewart.
