I have two friends who have high-functioning Down’s children who are now in their 20’s.

They are completely lovely and happy, happy people.

And when Sarah says they inspire a special kind of love, they certainly do. It’s a tenderness in the parents that I can’t describe.

When parents love special needs kids, it is a declaration of THEIR deep capacity for compassion and love despite problems. Sarah was honest when she said that their family is “blessed” with Trig in their family. Only bitter, selfish people who lack the depth and love of Christ fail to understand what great love this involves and how it STRENGTHENS the family bond.
