Steve Schmidt told the pool tonight that Sen. Obama is acting "in a political predatory fashion" by "swooping in" and buying up advertising time that Sen. McCain has released in order to focus on the economic crisis. He said McCain is working the phones tonight, trying to round up the votes to get the legislation passed and talked extensively about the perils that face the nation if a deal is not reached.
He also said that McCain is still hoping to be at the debate and looking forward to debating Obama. "He's been excited and looking forward to these debates. He had actually hoped this would be the 11th debate of the campaign, not the first. He's very disappointed in Sen. Obama about that because this could have been the 11th debate. Sen. Obama said he would debate anywhere, anyplace, anytime. He refused to do that," Schmidt said.

So? She’s a FAR better choice than either BHO or Biden. Again, good judgment, good values, street smarts go MUCH further in a leader than pedigree, ivy league degrees or “experience” (in Biden’s case, not BHO, obviously).
How much of the last three did Harry Truman have when he was suddenly thrust into the presidency? Yet how well history has remembered him, despite the dislike and low approval ratings he had at the time.
Integrity goes a LONG way, as well as really good judgment to choose the right people to advise and fast-track brief the president (both McCain and Palin are also VERY intelligent as well).

That may very well be what will happen. Everyone (especially the Left) always underestimates McCain. But he’s very smart. BHO’s been “prepping” and rehearsing for this debate for three days now. McCain doesn’t, not his style (and why he loves town halls - just spontaneous and real). You’re right, this current situation can be gold for JSM in the debate - he JUST needs to be mentally prepared, stay calm and collected, ‘cause BHO and his camp have one goal - to make him lose his temper and get rattled.
They showed this ad on O’Reilly tonight - despicable, and I’ll guarantee you, it’ll backfire big-time with the public. MSNBC (natch) aired it, while even CNN turned it down!!! Now, you know it’s really bad when CNN declines.

Obama still plays politics, does nothing to help the crisis. McCain working, putting his country first.
As much as I disliked McCain during the primaries, he has at times given me great reason to respect him more during the general election period.

Yeah, McCain IS trying to round up votes. Votes for POTUS. McCain is a politician. He had nothing to add at the "kum-bay-a" conference he suggested other than his name and another photo-op. The whole delayed debate is nothing more than a political "look-at-me" opportunity seized upon by McCain's advisers. Obama was gaining in the polls steadily until this crisis and McCain's campaign needed some kind of "look-at-me" opportunity. He, himself, has absolutely nothing to contribute to this situation. He doesn't understand this situation from any perspective - liberal or conservative.
He is not going to lose any of HIS houses but I bet his wife is furious, hehehehehe! Her poor individual (and separate) IRS return next year will reflect a few million in losses rather than several million in earned income as it did this past year. He'll still show the same $175K. Ah, but what's a few million here and there anyway?

Unfortunately, the Obama ads in the Philly area are very good (meaning, "will be effective in swaying independents") and directly relevant to recent events.
To be precise, Onada is taking advantage of the country’s economic situation for personnel gain. I’m sure McCain can take advantage of that when he debates the empty suit. Onada is jumping the shark here, IMO.
Granted, I'm not an Obamamaniac, but almost every radio commercial break break here in the tri-state area (NJ/PA/DE) has an Obama advertisement. They are annoying. Every stinking one of them talk about Bush and McCain. Not a single one of them outlines Obama's plans or accomplishments. I think they are backfiring.
I can’t imagine how nasty that will look to cancer patients and their families who want to hope cancer wouldn’t mean the end. It is disgusting!
He will also quickly become the reason for grabbing the remote and punching mute. Meanwhile, NcCain is on every financial program and in every breaking news spot, actually doing something. I am a political and business news junkie, but I stopped watching a month or so ago, out of boredom. Now, I have either FBC or FNC on, at least in the background, all the time. But I do keep the remote nearby, even while working, so I can quiet all the ads.

For the most part, I agree with you. McCain is doing what he does best, playing politics, at a level or two above what poor Obama can compete. He is manipulating the media, and they can’t retaliate quick enough. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing for a Republican to do at the peak of silly season. If McCain pulls it off, people will indeed view it as true leadership, and maybe they will be right. Me and mine have decided to support Palin, and that means supporting McCain. It certainly wasn’t my first choice of things to do, but Obama makes it tolerable.
