Obama 'swooping in': McCain adviser (buying up time McCain released)

Steve Schmidt told the pool tonight that Sen. Obama is acting "in a political predatory fashion" by "swooping in" and buying up advertising time that Sen. McCain has released in order to focus on the economic crisis. He said McCain is working the phones tonight, trying to round up the votes to get the legislation passed and talked extensively about the perils that face the nation if a deal is not reached.

He also said that McCain is still hoping to be at the debate and looking forward to debating Obama. "He's been excited and looking forward to these debates. He had actually hoped this would be the 11th debate of the campaign, not the first. He's very disappointed in Sen. Obama about that because this could have been the 11th debate. Sen. Obama said he would debate anywhere, anyplace, anytime. He refused to do that," Schmidt said.

I saw one of the McCain cancer ads tonight running in VA by a 527. It is highly ineffective.

McCain is acting like a leader, and Obama is acting like a thug. The debate should be fun.

Does Obamanure believe that he will take over the presidency the day after the election? He was quoted yesterday saying:

“With respect to the debate it’s my belief that this is exactly the time when the American people need to hear from the person who is, in approximately 40 days, will be responsible for dealing with this mess,’’ Obama said. “I think it is going to be part of the president’s job to be able to deal with more than one thing at once.’”

By my calender, the pres-elect will have to wait another 10 weeks past that 40 days before he will be “responsible for dealing with this mess...”

0bama may be low, but he’s not cheating on this.
McCain unilaterally gave up the time slots.
It was stupid because running ads doesn’t interfere with getting work done in Washington.

That means he’s spending twice as much money at a time when nobody cares what he has to say.

People will see Obama for what he really is, a cheap Chicago politician who likes to play at politics while not having any real substance.

This buying of time will cost Obama a lot.

It was stupid because running ads doesn’t interfere with getting work done in Washington.

It was brilliant because everyone has their attention glued to what is going on in Washington right now. Why waste money on ads when Obama and the rest of the democrats can show his true colors live on national TV.

The new ads, when they come out, may have a totally different focus based upon these events and McCain has conserved his $$$ to play them.

“With respect to the debate it’s my belief that this is exactly the time when the American people need to hear from the person who is, in approximately 40 days, will be responsible for dealing with this mess,’’

Like FDR talked to the people in 1929 on the teevee? Oh Barack, the people already know you are grandstanding, while McCain is trying to save the nation

That as is a disgrace. But what makes it even worse is that this appeared on Obama’s official campaign website at the same time the ad was released:

Obama is scum.

You need to learn to play the game. Politics is just as much about perception. If things were reversed the networks would be screaming even refusing to run ads for McCain.
