I apologize for making you think the only thing I care about is ACORN. I am no graphic artist so could not put up any kind of sample flyer to show what I am faxing.
I spent a good quantity of time calling the above members of Congress about my opposition to the bailout as a whole in the past couple days.
This post today is an addendum to that, now that I’ve heard who & what stands to profit from this mess even further.
Of course you’re welcome to Fax/Call/Write anything you choose, even in support of that plan. I hope that your not ‘knowing’ me doesn’t prevent you from sending our government a message about this extremely-troublesome plan.

John Fund is on FNC Live right now and saying as far as he knows this “Grandmother of all special interest provisions” is still in the deal. And that they already profited from past spring/summer’s housing must-pass bill.
Tell Congress we want the McCain-Cantor plan, not the Bush-0bama-Paulson plan!

Rep. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) said centrists would vote for a bill to rescue the financial institutions that did not include funds for the community activist group ACORN.
“In the end, the bill has to be done. I think that’s where they were — we need action; the moderates are kind of in a split right now,” he said, explaining that they believe that money for ACORN or unnecessary earmarks should not be included. Rep. Christopher Shays (R-Conn.) also told reporters that money for ACORN should not be included in the bill.
“A plan that makes sure that the taxpayer is protected, it’s gotta have a loan provision, it’s gotta have a buyout provision and it’s gotta have an insurance provision, it’s gotta have some point of equity and it can’t fund ACORN.”
Shays added, “If the taxpayer isn’t protected, you are not going to have any votes in that conference.”

Last night, for the first time, I heard about 20% of $700,000 billion will go to Acorn. I couldn’t believe this.....I emailed 2 Fox shows to confirm or discount this. This was confirmed today on the radio and TV (John Fund). I called my FL Congressman and Roy Blount’s office.
I also called John Boehner’s office, where the woman laughed at me saying ‘earmarks’ can’t be determined since the bill hasn’t been passed. I explained that the 205 to Acorn was part of ‘the package’....she acknowledged this but said the pkg hasn’t been agreed to yet. I asked her to have Mr. Boehner look closely at the package since ...(per your post) NOT ONE PENNY SHOULD GO TO ACORN. THEY ARE A TERRIBLE ORGANIZATION AND MAY BE INVOLVED IN FRAUDULENT ACTIVITIES SO WHY WOULD WE GIVE THEM $1F40 BILLION DOLLARS????? GRRRRRRRRR....I am furious about this!

Agreed!!! I just spoke w a very nice lady at Congressman Reichert’s office in WA state (and thanked her for letting me vent!).
Unfortunately, I don’t think it will do any good to contact Maria Can’tdowell or Patti Osama mama Murray, but I may try.
