Exactly, the Wine and Cheese crowd from both sides cannot understand how someone without a big family name, tons of money/connections or fancy education could rise to prominence like this.

Keep in mind that this is one voice at NRO, and they don’t always agree with each other in any case. The rest of the staff, especially Kathryn Jean Lopez, are solidly on Palin’s side.

Second, Palin’s interviews with Gibson and Couric were gotcha-fests, and the the Veep debate will be a much better indicator of her readiness, as theoretically both candidates will have the same questions.

The thing these people cannot understand is how someone with a non-Ivy League education can make their jobs seem so easy.

They can't stand that. A regular, normal American can't do this job, according to the elitists.

It's a threat to them. All of them.

Sarah Palin is a very plain spoken person. I believe that is part of her success with the people. They understand her, she makes sense, they can relate to her like no other politician.
