Kirk Cameron, child star, actor and composer is now blogging for Regular Folks United. He writes about choosing to do his latest movie Fireproof. The producers were looking for an actor who not only could play the part, they said, but someone genuinely walking with the Lord.

I’m sorry, but Kirk Cameron hasn’t really been part of Hollywood for more than fifteen years.
Thank goodness because one or two years ago a movie was made about Christian missionaries that died for Christ.
The decision maker accepted a gay power activist as the lead actor and once the movie was made, the activist destroyed the marketability by campaigning as guess what?
To “walk with the Lord” does not a well-informed voter make.
I believe you’re talking about end of the spear... It was made with production budget (without promotion) of $10m, and made total of $12m. Considering that studios only make about 60% of the gross total (the rest go to theater owners), it’s safe to say they lost money on that. A stupid decision to cast Chad Allen who later became member of board directors the Matthew Shepard Foundation.
Kirk was really good in the ‘Left Behind’ movies.
Tip of the Spear- I enjoyed the film, but didn’t know about
the lead actor.
“To walk with the Lord does not a well-informed voter make.”
Howd you get from movies to voting?
A well disciplined, moral person generally makes a good voter though.
Hollywood producers don’t want to make films with someone who won’t even kiss someone that isn’t their wife.
Not that I disagree with Kirk’s decision, it’s admirable. But it’s just not “Hollywood”.
“Amen” to that.

He hit the talk show circuit and instead of promoting the film, he aggressively promoted his homosexuality, it was devastating.
I remember how respectful the Passion actors were about their film on the talk shows, it does make a difference.
