We new a bailout was going to get through. The Dems control both houses and they have the votes. they just want Reps. to along so they don’t have to take sole blame.

I agree Capitalism and Free Marjkets lost with this deal....but there could be light. If the cards are played right, conservatives can win.

House Republicans led by Mike Pence will vote no. Then they hang the this unpopular bailout on Pelosi, Ried and company.

Barack Obama is out there pretty much saying he will vote Yes. John McCain I have no clue what he will do. I feel all he has to do is let Obama vote yes then he flips a No vote and he has his talking point until November. But will he do it? We’ll have to wait and see.

Amen, I say to you.

Seriously, it’s bad politics and bad policy.

This is a huge problem for McCain because people see this as either it’s a Wall Street problem, a Washington problem, or both. Most people think the Republicans run Washington (despite a Democrat Congres) and most people think that the people who run Wall Street are Republicans (despite their massive fundraising tilt to the Dems, which 99% don’t know about).

It is up to the McCain campaign, via his various means of campaign messaging, and the RNC, via theirs, to convince people otherwise. At this point, I don’t see them even thinking about trying to tie the Dems to this mess.

Who Lost?

Depends who you ask.

To those who have nothing invested, nothing to loose, they say they lost, “the taxpayer lost”.

To those who do have a lot invested, far exceeding paltry amounts guarantied by government, At least not all is lost, although they loose on the other end, as they are really the taxpayers when those investments are redeemed for cash.

Who won? As always, the politicians- and we know who they all are- those who receive generous “donations” from all those involved in this multi-layered scam-business, the CEO’s and other excessively rewarded rip off artists who lurk under them, doing their dirty work while protecting them from legal action against them. The elite whose excess is a licence to steal even more from the innocent who, in good faith, invest in the system, thinking it’s fair.
