To: ChocChipCookie

I was coming here to ask something like that. I’ve heard that there were Dems not supporting this thing and that made me suspicious. Why did ‘they’ vote against it? I thought about it being an election year. But it always seems like there has to be phone campaigns and email campaigns and a LOT of fuss before something like this happens. This was almost too fast.

Can someone explain it to me? Or am I just too accustomed to long drawn out battles to try to get something bad stopped? Or should I care, so long as it’s not passed?

It could be that they are hoping to get a porked-up version offered up and force it through without Republican support.

Apparently, quite a few on the left are against the bailout on principle. Even MoveOn has come out against it.
