Palin raising fears among Republican conservatives

WASHINGTON - She burst onto the American political scene as Sarah "The Barracuda" Palin, a confident, moose-hunting, hockey-mom governor whose razor-sharp attacks on Barack Obama, Washington insiders and the U.S. media "elite" helped revive John McCain's presidential campaign in early September.

But as she prepares for her vice-presidential debate Thursday against Senator Joe Biden, Palin is now fighting to dispel perceptions among some conservatives that she's quickly becoming a political liability for the Republican candidate.

McCain on Monday dispatched his two most senior aides - campaign manager Rick Davis and strategist Steve Schmidt - to his ranch in Sedona, Ariz., to begin three days of intense coaching with the Alaska governor ahead of her 90-minute showdown with Biden at Washington University in St. Louis.

The decision came amid widespread criticism in the media and - more distressing for McCain - mounting anxiety among Republicans over Palin's performance during an extended interview last week with CBS News anchor Katie Couric.

What a crock of sh**. Palin is the only reaspon McCain will win. I wish he would shut up about the bail out failure and let the dems pass off the credit for failure onto the republicans. The American public didn’t want the bill passed and McCain and the dems are blaming each other as if failure of it was a bad thing. Shut up McCain and Rudy too, let the dems blame us, more votes for McCain and the Republican legislators up for re-election.

It's Romney's people who are floating this garbage out there.

They've already started the 2012 campaign, knowing Sarah will be the one to beat.

The Romneybots, the ones who, had their man been nominated as Veep, would have been leaking damaging backbiting information against John McCain personally for their having been stuck at 15 points behind Obama-Biden.

Mitt Romney-Flexibility We can Believe In.

Best,

Chris

This is from CANADA, folks, last time I checked, Canadians can't vote in U.S. elections.

As for the Couric interview, I don't know how ANYBODY could put credence in this POS. It may as well have been one of the million dollar segments of “Who Wants to be a Millionaire”. Perhaps TWO relevant questions were asked in the entire 2 day “interview”. Come on, people, get it right! Katie Krap Couric was the one who deserved the failing marks, not Sarah Palin!

I want to see Palin tie the noose of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac around Biden’s head on Thursday. There will be a HUGE audience and she would be the perfect vehicle to spell out for the American people that Dodd, Frank, and the Democrat Party were in bed with Fannie/Freddie and caused this whole mortgage mess in the first place. The American people are not getting this message due to their own laziness and the MSM’s refusal to report it. Now is the time. Probably upward of 80-100 million people will be watching.

“Which “conservatives” are nervous about her?”

According to the source, Canadian conservatives evidently. Maybe they are one of those 57 states!

And bless you for doing so. She is the salvation of the party. We need to hear her speak her mind. LET HER LOOSE. She knows what to do. She has done it. Trust our Sarah. If any FReepers are losing their nerve about our lady...shame on you.

I’m not worried.

I’ve already got the “Gaffe-O-Meter” sitting on top of my TV set just waiting for Joe Biden to say something stupid on Thursday night.

Sure enough of that Big Government Bushitis going around. It almost killed us, and we haven't been inoculated yet. (See Senate vote)

Even with an inoculation the virus is still present. Let's hope we remember to get our booster shots every year.
