S.F. kinky naked romp a spanking success (Folsom Street Fair Nausea Alert)
SF Chronicle ^ | 9/29/2008 | Demian Bulwa

They held the world's biggest celebration of leather, bondage and sexual fetish in San Francisco on Sunday, and due to the event's interactive nature, many people are now walking gingerly.

"Enough is enough," said Lowell Clark, pulling up his blue jeans after emerging from one of dozens of spanking booths at the 25th Folsom Street Fair.

Clark, a 30-year-old San Francisco waiter, conceded he was a novice at the booths, where men and women in search of stimulation were struck with whips, paddles or bare hands. Clark was last spanked at the age of 6 at the hands of his mother in Oklahoma. A stolen pack of chewing gum was involved.

"I still don't think I'll steal anything," Clark said. Still, he called the spanking a "stinging pleasure" that he would try "maybe once a year."

It was just another scene from the city's most unabashed bash - a public display of all things kinky that covered 13 blocks in the South of Market neighborhood and drew hundreds of thousands of people, many of them not wearing leather in key places.

There were naked people selling bondage gear and naked people seeking support for measures on the Nov. 4 ballot. There were naked people with cameras, taking pictures of other naked people.

One man wore only an 11-foot Burmese albino python, which curled around his waist. The arrangement seemed risky.

The fair is fun but also important, said Al Waddell, a 58-year-old entrepreneur from Oregon whose Paddle Daddy flogging implements were available in mahogany, hickory and walnut.

It seems appropriate that folks like these should be represented in D.C. by Stretch Pelosi.

Look at it this way: at least he doesn’t live in your neighborhood.

I’d like to drop the participants, without a change of clothing, into Teheran and see what happens to them.

I am glad that this happens in San Francisco. Why?

Because I live on the East Coast, and SF is just about as far away as you can get from me, and still stay on the continent.

funny how the media isn’t going to cover this one.....

might accidentally harm House re-election chances for the majority.

And queers can't understand why people detest them.

Do what you want to do behind closed doors and answer to God for it.

This disgusting compulsion to display all sorts of private behavior is absolutely revolting. It's the exact same thing as if I wanted to call myself a "doggy-style American".

There are people who are surrounded by bigots
and know it is wrong, but are afraid to be vocal against it.
These people are going to pull the lever for Obama
and they are not being polled.

He doesn’t have any pics from this past Sunday’s “event.” The “up your alley” disgrace was a few months ago.

Amazing how obsessive/compulsive mania over pee-pees and poo-poos is labled as “adult” behavior.

Stan’s Fag Disco makes the Chelsea section of Manhattan look like the Vatican (and I’m not talking about the “fahbulous” decor either).

Not just San Francisco. In Portland Oregon they have a whole week celebrating Gay Pride which culminates, coincidentally, on flag day with an event where people dress up in costume and go from bar to bar. And then, down a main street in the city, hundreds of people ride their bikes nude for gay pride. They look stupid in their helmets and I don’t see what riding your bike nude has to do with the cause. Anyway, it is allowed, barely even noticed as unusual. This movement of running around naked is growing. A relative of a relative has her picture all over the internet nude - in parades, at weddings, standing alongside the public highway...and not in an artsy way but rather in a way that makes you so glad that someone somewhere along the way had the idea that people should wear clothes. The more we tolerate the farther they push the envelope until what we thought was “odd” comes to our city and it is the new normal. Think of all the things that you used to think were just going on in “lala land” that have since come to your own town, neighborhood or family....like “shacking up” or getting married in a very formal and public way when you are about 8 months pregnant.

I was at the Giants-Dodgers game with all the other normal folks, watching “Cy” Lincecum strike out 13. Guess I missed this exhibition of high art. ;)
