Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright Says Chance of Palin Presidency Scares Her
Cleveland Plain Dealer ^ | Tuesday, September 30, 2008 | Mark Naymik

Madeleine Albright, who became the first female U.S. Secretary of State and highest ranking woman in government in 1997, is frightened by the possibility that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, Republican John McCain's running mate, could assume the presidency.

Asked today in an interview with Plain Dealer editors and reporters if she is scared by the prospect of Palin being a heartbeat away, Albright, who has endorsed Democrat Barack Obama, responded without hesitating, "Yes. Yes."

"Having served two presidents, I think the job of the president is the most difficult job in the world," said Albright, who advised President Carter on national security and foreign policy and later President Clinton as secretary of state. "What you need in a vice president - and I've felt this for a long time because I've watched [vice president Walter] Mondale and [vice president] Al Gore - is that you need a partner. The job is huge and needs somebody not only for the heartbeat part but in the day-to-day governance.

"Gore went a step further of being almost like a prime minister ... taking away the underbrush of issues to do with how two countries relate to each other. So you need somebody that actually knows what they are doing. I see that with the Obama-Joe Biden relationship. I certainly don't see it in the McCain-Palin relationship."

The left SHOULD be scared of Sarahcuda -

if she does in Washington what she did in Alaska,

the left’s ENTIRE POWER BASE will be DESTROYED.

History will not be kind to Albright. The Clinton administration had no coherent foreign policy, made consistent decisions to not take on al queda and kill Bin Laden, and even did brilliant things like give the N. Koreans nuclear technology because great leader double secret promised he wouldn’t try to make weapons. She is undoubtedly the Secretary of State who put America most at risk in at least the last 50 years.

Oh, surprise, surprise! If she's a loyal democrat, which she is, what the hell did the CPD expect her to say? While my memory may not be as good as it once was, for the life of me, I cannot think of a single breakthrough that was orchestrated by Albright while she was SoS.

How anyone can say that Obama is capable of being president never ceases to amaze me. Gov. Palin is a sensible, level-headed public servant dedicated to America. Obama is dedicated only to himself and to our enemies.

A man who can’t speak without a teleprompter and a bungling idiot don’t scare her. Palin and McCain scare her because her frieinds the dictators and enemies of America might be put in line. Interesting that Palin and McCain don’t scare her old boss Clinton.

I will say Gore is now 3 times the man he was then—literally by that photo.

To me Albright appears to be arrogant, and I've wondered if her ego was a big reason behind US involvement in Serbia-Kosovo.

MAJOR CONFLICT at Plain Dealer. Top columnist is Connie Schultz. She’s married to far, far left Sen, Sherrod Brown. She’s working to get into White house one way or other. Brown’s a big ACORN and moveon.org favorite

Somehow I can’t see Sarah Palin chasing after a terrorist like Maddie did with Arafat, just to bring him back into talks.
