What is really interesting is this guy was a supposed big shot at Fannie Mae, but after leaving FNMA, he was relegated to working at a pottery shop, and later became a mortgage broker. No wait, he's not even a mortgage broker, he is selling home improvement loans!
If this guy was a big shot at FNMA, he probably would have been handed a regional director's job for a mortgage company.

On the face, it looks like the typical move, one person leaves when the money train dries up, but did Moses and Frank part ways before the collapse of Fannie Mae, in other words, did he see it coming, know that Frank was in for a hit/blame and he left before he could be caught in the wake?

BOSTON, MA — Rep. Barney Frank’s companion, Herb Moses, has suffered back-handed insults before. But last month’s hour-long tirade from Rep. Bob Dornan, the most vociferous anti-gay legislator in Congress, was more than he could stand.
Dornan, a Republican from California, laced his address to members of the floor with broadsides directed not only against Moses, but against Rob Morris as well, the companion of openly gay Rep. Steve Gunderson.
Said Dornan, “I know I speak for most members when I state that the only Moses we like to hear about on this House floor is our Moses of Exodus . . . Moses of the Ten Commandments, Mr. Speaker; not suggestions about matters like infanticide and adultery and sodomy.
I am beyond annoyance hearing on this House floor about Herb Moses or Rob Morris. Why must we hear about 45-year-old and fiftyish boyfriends?”
“Attacks on legislators’ spouses from other members breaches every accepted standard of ethical behavior on the House floor,” said an unnamed legislative aide. “The only reason Dornan did it was because they are gay and he thought he could get away with it.”
The Boston Globe reports Moses, 39, is fighting back with a fund-raising effort for Democratic candidate Loretta Sanchez, Dornan’s chief rival in the November election. “When somebody attacks me unfairly, I feel the need to respond,” said Moses, a mortgage executive who shares a house in Washington with Frank.
Dornan, informed of Moses’ fund-raising letter, told the Congressional newspaper the Hill he hoped Moses campaigned in his district. “Maybe he can wear a dress,” Dornan said.
Moses, on hearing the comment, broke up in laughter. “That’s hilarious! I’m 6 feet tall, weigh 190 pounds and have a beard. He has a pretty strange idea of what [gay men] look like,” said Moses. He enjoyed noting the excellent response he was receiving from the first round mailing.

Congressman Barney Frank’s scandalous tolerance of a gay prostitution business operating out of his house, uncovered by the Washington Times in 1989, drew from ABC nowhere near the dramatic amount of attention ABC gave Mark Foley. On the August 25, 1989 World News Tonight, Sam Donaldson noted it just once in passing, a mere 67 words:
“Massachusetts Representative Barney Frank, an acknowledged homosexual, today confirmed that his Washington apartment had been used as a callboy headquarters by a male prostitute for a year and a half until late 1987.
Responding to a story in today’s Washington Times, Frank said he had hired the prostitute out of his own funds as a personal aide and fired him when he found out what was going on.”
He has served on the committee since becoming a congressman in 1981 and became the ranking Democrat on the committee in 2003. He became chairman of the committee, now called the House Financial Services Committee, in 2007.
Moses was the assistant director for product initiatives at Fannie Mae and had been at the forefront of relaxing lending restrictions at the company for rural customers, according to the Feb. 23, 1998, issue of National Mortgage News (NMN).
“Herb Moses, who helped develop many of Fannie Mae’s affordable housing and home improvement lending programs, has left the mortgage industry,” Darryl Hicks wrote for NMN. “Mr. Moses - whose last day was Feb. 13 - spent the past seven years at Fannie Mae, most recently as director of housing initiatives. Over the course of time, he played an instrumental role in developing the company’s Title One and 203(k) home improvement lending programs.”
Hicks explained in his story how Moses orchestrated a collaborative effort between Fannie Mae and the Department of Agriculture.
“The Dartmouth grad also played a crucial role in brokering a relationship between Fannie Mae and the Department of Agriculture,” Hicks wrote. “This led to the creation of Fannie Mae’s rural housing program where the secondary marketing agency agreed to purchase small farm loans insured through the department.”
While Moses served at Fannie Mae and was Frank’s partner, Frank was actively working to support GSEs, according to several news outlets.
In 1991, Frank and former Rep. Joe Kennedy, D-Mass., lobbied for Fannie to soften rules on multi-family home mortgages although those dwellings showed a default rate twice that of single-family homes, according to the Nov. 22, 1991, Boston Globe.
BusinessWeek reported in its Nov. 14, 1994, issue that Fannie Mae called on Frank to exert his influence against a Housing & Urban Development proposal that would force the GSE to focus on minority and low-income buyers and police bias by lenders regardless of their location. Fannie Mae opposed HUD on the issue because it claimed doing so would “ignore the urban middle class.”
Moses left Fannie in 1998 to start his own pottery business. National Mortgage News called Moses a “mortgage guru” and said he developed “many of Fannie Mae's affordable housing and home improvement lending programs. Moses ended his relationship with Frank just months after he left Fannie.

Early life
Frank was born to a Jewish family in Bayonne, New Jersey and was educated at Harvard College, where he resided in Kirkland House and then Winthrop House, graduating in 1962. He taught undergraduates at Harvard while studying for a Ph.D., but left in 1968, before completing that degree, to become the Chief Assistant to Mayor Kevin White of Boston, a position he held for three years. He then served for one year as Administrative Assistant to Congressman Michael J. Harrington.
Reprimand
In 1990, the House voted to reprimand Frank when it was revealed that Steve Gobie, a male escort whom Frank had befriended after hiring him through a personal advertisement, claimed to have conducted an escort service from Frank’s apartment when he was not at home. Frank had dismissed Gobie earlier that year and reported the incident to the House Ethics Committee after learning of Gobie’s activities. After an investigation, the House Ethics Committee found no evidence that Frank had known of or been involved in the alleged illegal activity.[2] Regarding Gobie’s more scandalous claims the report by the Ethics Committee concluded, “In numerous instances where an assertion made by Mr. Gobie (either publicly or during his Committee deposition) was investigated for accuracy, the assertion was contradicted by third-party sworn testimony or other evidence of Mr. Gobie himself.”[3]
The New York Times reported on July 20, 1990 that the House Ethics Committee recommended “that Representative Barney Frank receive a formal reprimand from the House for his relationship with a male prostitute.”[4] Attempts to expel or censure Frank, led by Republican member Larry Craig (who himself was later embroiled in his own homosexual scandal) failed.[5][6] Rather, the House voted 408-18 to reprimand him.[7] This condemnation was not reflected in Frank’s district, where he won re-election in 1990 with 66 percent of the vote, and has won by larger margins ever since.
