Now it’s a $1000 tax incentive that we all get to pay (plus, oh, another $10k each I’m sure) to realize the longterm gains we as taxpayers will be certain to receive from the sale of the toxic loans by the federal government to the free market who will be begging to pay the feds a preimium on these loans as the revenue streams flow in like floodwaters from on time mortgage payers over the next 20 years. Duh, where have you been!!

LOLOLOL! I must have been mesmerized by the orations of Obama. ;-)

I'm guessing he could charm folks into begging to pay those premiums!

My friend is one of them. She is jubilant over the $1000 tax 'break'. I can't help but laugh when she says it, which only irritates her. But there's no point in my struggle to inject logic into that conversation. I told her that even if, even if!, it were a straight up tax relief of 1000, that is barely 83/month, or 21/wk, which barely covers the extra she needs to spend to keep gas in her SUV. The look on her face was priceless. (I didn't try to mention that her higher tax rates would negate any benefit..)

Solid, good to see you spreading the truth about “tax cuts” from Darth Obama.

A friend of mine, who I really like, spoke with me this weekend about the election and I told her I’m for McCain and why. Among the many things we discussed were taxes and she was so lost on what the capital gains increase to 25%, which Obama has touted, would do to the average Joe. She thought it would only impact a small amount of certain types of investments and when I told her it will impact millions of folks who are retiring and are cashing in investments, or taking out money from mutual funds, IRA’s etc and were hoping for lower tax rates or the family who cashes in stocks they’ve been holding because times are getting tough or whatever the situation may be average joes are, through no fault of their own, losing 10% of their money to the federal government if Obama is Prez. She was like...oh...I didn’t realize it affected people in that way. I don’t think I swayed her, but it made a point most definitely.

Think about that for a minute. 10% of how many trillions of dollars of gains people have realized on good investments would be siphoned to the federal governement kitty to be spent wildly by any and all politicians just because they can.

That makes me sick.
