What if no Americans are able to earn more than 250,000 per year?

He has no mandates on individual adults is what Kerry means. Obtaining health coverage is not compulsory.

Obama's health plan has never made any sense to me -- it's just another fairy tale. The idea that insurance companies will cover all w/ affordable premiums based on letting tax cuts for > $250K expire doesn't pass the smell test. Obama's health plan sounds like the junk faxes I get: You can't be turned down for coverage! Call 1-800-blah-blah.

Obama: “Require insurance companies to cover pre-existing conditions so all Americans regardless of their health status or history can get comprehensive benefits at fair and stable premiums.”

Interesting. Already a significant percentage of “uninsured” Americans are people that are healthy, fit, typically young, who make a purely rational economic decision that buying health insurance is a bad bet — that it will cost them $4K/yr, and the likelihood that they will get seriously sick is near nil.

Now Obama is saying, ‘you can buy health insurance AFTER you get sick.’ Really!?? So why would I buy insurance NOW then?? Of course I’ll just wait.

Which shows the inanity of lumping all the “uninsured” together in some sort of fake misery index.
