The election is Obama’s to lose. McCain has recently made several bone headed statements (”The economy is fundamentally sound”) and has failed to capitalize on the fact that he was calling for increased oversite on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac way before it was in vogue to do so.
McCain is part of the eastern GOP elite. These are the same people who have run the W Presidency. Their greatest desire is to have the liberal media like them. What they don’t get is that the liberal media will only like you if you aren’t trying to beat a Democrat.
The GOP elites have accepted permanent minority party status. They don’t really want to put their country first. They want to put their popularity with the liberal establishment first.
