” If the people elect Obama, they deserve everything that they get “

A lot of folks will get things ( $$$ ) they DON’T deserve if he is elected .

You are so right. I feel much better. If he gets in, at least we won’t have to listen to the constant barage of attacks from the media. Maybe a true conservative will rise in 2012.

I don’t think some people on here read past the headline and the first paragraph. Reading comprehension is not a strong suit among some posters on here IMHO. They will post a reply and not bothered to read or understand what was written.

It is annoying too!

Great post. Our kids today (for the most part) are more shallow than a parking lot puddle in Phoenix.

I used to think FReepers were some of the most intelligent folks around. Perhaps that was even true at one time. But I certainly don’t feel that way now.

I would agree with you. A few are left that get it but more left that want to whine and throw temper tantrums.

What gets me is when they don’t read the article and take off after the first couple of paragraphs. Some comments are childish.

A lot of people have left over the years thanks to the malcontents of the my way or no way crowd showing them the door. I still get clobbered occasionally because I supported Rudy who I thought had the best chance but he wasn’t socially conservative enough. Excuse me but now the opponent is for killing babies that are born alive from a partial birth abortion. Just maybe getting a candidate that personally was pro-life but would abide by the SCOTUS would have been better then Obama.

Now they complain McCain is not what they want and he is a liberal which is Bravo Sierra. McCain is no liberal when it comes to fiscal policy and he is no liberal when compared to Obama. Ardently pro-life but now that is not the criteria. Something is wrong with the picture — cannot have Rudy as he is too liberal socially but now they have a social conservative and he is too liberal. Figure that one out. The candidate that would fit their criteria couldn’t even carry a majority of the Republican vote.

We used to have a lot of activists that got out and worked for candidates. We still do have some but not in the numbers as before.

These people that live and die by polls daily cannot have ANY background in politics. Zero, zip, nada.

Frustrating as can be. Have to wonder how many posting are Republican or have ever voted Republican.

My two cents!

Their only chance is to depress conservative turnout.

Which is why they're doing their best to discourage and even panic us. Haven't we seen this propaganda before? Haven't we learned anything? I don't think this is over by a long shot. I expect McCain to win.

Yeah, I don't care for McCain, and really never have. But to call him a liberal is silly. He's strongly pro-life and strong on national defense. His ACU rating is not bad, although it's my understanding that it has gone down (and deservedly so) in recent years. There's a lot of reasons to criticize McCain, but calling him a liberal just makes me yawn.

I like Rudy's leadership, and would have voted for him for President. But he did not receive my support during the primary. Which is where this stuff is supposed to be sorted out. My favorite candidate (Fred) didn't win either. I'm over it. It's now Obama or McCain.

And even if one truly thinks McCain is a liberal, there's still a conservative on that ticket to get excited about.

These people that live and die by polls daily cannot have ANY background in politics. Zero, zip, nada.

Amen. And no matter how many times some of us point out competing information, fallacies in the polls, etc., it simply doesn't matter.

For all the people expecting Palin to mop the floor with Biden tonight, I'd personally be stunned if that actually occurred. Biden's gonna be on a short leash, and very, very careful. The Left did probably hurt themselves by lowering expectations for Gov. Palin, but what happens tomorrow if the debate is considered a draw or a Biden win? More cybersuicides on FR? :-)

Although I didn't watch the video I like your thread. My thread is pretty much exactly the same as yours, if you bothered to read the whole thing. :-) It's all about PsyOps (media manipulation). This is nothing we haven't seen before.

Think Biden will be very careful and that too many people have higher expectations for Palin then she can deliver. She gave a red meat speech at the Convention but that is not going to happen in a debate. Once again back to what a candidate can do in a debate setting is not the same as giving a speech. I am hoping for some one liners that hit the mark.

Would have been happy with Fred — gave a great speech at the Convention but like Rudy I am not sure they both had that fire in the belly to run a long campaign and frankly the thought has crossed my mind that two good friends of McCain were in the race to keep Romney from getting the nomination. Both Thompson and Rudy were happy as could be at the Convention giving speeches for McCain.

Anyone that knows me knows that McCain was not my first choice and there are issues like immigration and CFR I detest with a passion but that Tuesday night of Florida when I went to McCain at the request of some good friends, I did it because I thought he had the best chance to win. Was I enthusiastic at first? Not even a little but when word that Palin was the VP, my whole outlook changed and now enthusiatic about the ticket. Also understand a lot more about 2000 which helped me get on board with McCain.

I know that McCain and Obama are 180 degrees apart when it comes to fiscal or pro-life issues and anyone that says otherwise wants to mislead people. There is no bigger fiscal conservative then McCain has been for years and years. He hates pork, does not ask for pork, and Obama is all about pork. All anyone needs to do is check the records, but that would require doing more then writing snarky comments.

Excellent post. To which I will add a quick comment: I distinctly remember in 2000 feeling exactly the same way that I suspect many Obama supporters feel today. We were all broken glass Republicans, while the other side were mostly people who had to hold their nose to support Gore. How well did that work out in the end?

But mainly this is Obama and the media now trying to put on a full court press to convince Republicans and right-leaning Independents that further resistance is futile. And I can’t believe that so many people here are falling for it. You should all be embarrased.

Yeah, I hope Sarah does well. And I think she will. She has proven herself in previous debates. But most likely, as with virtually all debates, neither candidate will win convincingly and neither candidate will make a fatal error. But because the libs/media overplayed their Palin attacks, she may well benefit from lower expectations. We shall see.

What a cute article! And from a cute place that *exposes* Sarah Palin’s small town snobbery.

So, counterpunch, who are you going to vote for?
