No, McCain didn’t have to do this.

Leaders lead not follow the pack.

McCain lost my vote tonight.

Maybe McCain (who is not dumb) voted for it because he thought, based on his knowledge, that it was the right thing to do?

Maybe you disagree. But there are many other issues in this campaign, and believe me, McCain is 100% better than Osama Obama on every one of them.

He was set up and you know it. McCain was between the proverbial rock and a hard place designed to bring him down. Apparently it’s working if everything I’m reading on FR lately is any indication.

Did you notice what we’re going to get with a president obama? More goodies. Oh yes, in his stump speech to the Senate today, obama said that this bailout is not the end of this thing, but the beginning. Then he rattled on and on about all the folks who needed bailing out yet.

All this from one of the main players in this fiasco!

“No, McCain didn’t have to do this.”

He’d have gained a lot of traction in the polls if he’d opposed this. Almost everyone opposes this bill. Lots of libs do, lots of moderates do, and a heck of a lot of conservatives do. He could have won a lot of swing voters by fighting this.
