A council is urging allotment holders not to lock their sheds in case thieves damage the structures while breaking in.

I'm betting they still have locks and security at Number 10 Downing Street.

This is such a great idea. But let’s not just stop there. It is only proper that we leave our car doors unlocked and the keys in the ignition.

I lived in England for 2 years in the 70’s. Loved it. The countryside was beautiful and the people were just terrific. However, even back then the socialism was beginning to take its toll on then Country and its people.

I also lived in the UK during the 70's. I remember a strike that resulted in repeated blackouts. After one chicken farmer lost his chicks twice, he loaded up a pressurized container of liquid chicken manure, drove to the picket line, "washed" the picketing non-workers, and fled back to his farm.

The picketers gave chase, but were rebuffed at the edge of his farm when the farmer fired his shotgun in the air.

Hard to imagine that happening today.

What’s the next step? Just turn over all of your valuables to “The Council” for safekeeping?

Cripes.

Allotments are rarely near the house or any house

Oh, in that case, we can save them the long walk by putting the money on the front step of the house. Just put a sign on the door saying, "Too tired to walk all the way to my shed to get free stuff? Just take this money and buy whatever you want! Have a nice night."
