I had to bail from here yesterday afternoon; otherwise I knew that I wouldn’t sleep at all last night. Talk about piling it on McCain and it even spilled over to Sarah. When we’re ahead in the polls again, I hope the tone changes. In the meantime, I also hope that donations are being made to freerepublic.
I’m not jumping off the cliff with you. Turn off the tv and this will get better.
Another thing you forgot to mention is that McCain said straight up that BHO was not ready to be president. This was a good exchange.

He seemed befuddled and didn’t know how to respond to the current state of affairs.
Three weeks ago McCain was a genius.
This sounds like the call-in line to a radio sports talk show after the team lost a game. The season is over. Gloom, doom, all is lost, McCain is a socialsit, ya-da, ya-da. We need a new offensive coordinator, we need a new coach, bench the quarterback,.... same old stuff.
What was McCain supposed to say about Ifill? Go “Waaaaa?”
The rule in politics is that you let your supporters attack Ifill while you, McCain, take the high road. You shrug it off. You deal with it and keep going. It is when you act like all is lost because of a minor bump that your opponents know you are on the way out. You use it as motivation to be more on your toes.
Palin has a formidable task ahead of her. The debate is not limited to foreign policy. Biden is on the judiciary committee so he can throw in various details about Supreme Court cases, etc. Hopefully the Palin advisers have prepped her on judicial matters.
She needs to be able to give enough detail to show she has familiarity with a topic without necessarily convincing people she is well-schooled in it. The biggest danger in a debate setting for a person new to the national stage is to just look blank and caught off guard—the Dan Quayle effect. If she can weave her way through the minefield and come out appearing smart, regardless of whether she has actually said anything, then she will have won the debate.
The MSM will say Biden won. We know that. If Palin can get through without a big gaffe (or even if she has one) I will repeat my belief that she immediately hit the campaign trail on a bus tour through the swing states doing interviews and speeches several times a day, talking to people one-on-one, interviews with local media, etc. Garnering support in that setting will wipe out any debate issues, if there are any.
It is trench warfare there and she has the ability to make a difference.
Now so far as aggressiveness is concerned, I agree that McCain’s campaign needs to get on the stick.
IF only he could act like a conservative, he’d be president next year. He blew it by voting for the bailout. He should be given a darwin award for killing off his political career. What a shame.
McCain can’t say anything until the bill is passed. This morning NPR had Barney Frank on and he mouthed off on how mad people are but the reporter didn’t even ask him about his own involvement. The MSM will wait until Barry is elected then we will hear about the people responsible.

I just love how the power brokers in Washington will regurgitate and spin one of the firmly entrenched good ol boy’z from the senate and make him out to be the maverick for change.
Then the sheeple just suck it down hook, line and sinker.
Palin, as cute as she is, is NOT ready to be a stones throw away from being leader of the free world. Sorry all, I listen to her and just shake my head.

I would love for someone in the conservative independent media to look at how much money and effort is given by the dem’s and pub's alike to silence the opposition.

I agree. Maybe McCain is waiting for this vote situation to be finished. He doesn’t want to be seen as stirring the pot right now. Country First! Maybe after this thing is settled, his gloves will come off.

Why doesn’t John McCain fight for US??Ever since the rousing speech in St. Paul, us grassroots voters have been helping John and Sarah get elected. I have donated and personally have become an assistant county registrar signing up voters and changes in addresses.
I am very worried that the campaign is not fighting hard enough to win. Where are the truthful ads about the ACORN corruption (both in the mortgage and voter fraud areas)? How about Obama’s part in the Chicago Annenberg Challenge ($100 million dollars to diversity, political organizers, etc.) instead of to education programs (evaluation showed no increase in student test scores). Or worse yet, his association (some say close collaboration) with unrepentant terrorist William Ayers?
Worse, and from today’s headlines, blame for the mortgage crisis goes back to the Democratic policies that issued sub-prime mortgages to non-credit worthy borrowers. Wall street may be partly to blame, but equally so are those Democrats who initiated and supported such loans. And, of course, some of Obama’s major advisor’s were deeply involved with those organizations.
The Democrats are pulling every trick in the book (and some not in any book) to win this election. Being bi-partisan at a time when Republicans are being savaged with their lies and those in the biased main stream media doesn’t work.
So get up and fight for us, stand up for us, show us you WANT to win this election. Please don’t let this great country go into the hands of a corrupt and ruthless Democratic party who will do anything to win and gain power and then dictate more government, more regulations and less freedom.
PLEASE HELP US WIN THE ELECTION!!!
It’s time for us to throw the Washington elites out of the Republican party and re-build from the bottom up. McCain thought the media would come running to him because said the magic word—”bipartisan.”

George Bush intentionally orchestrated the Paulson bill so McCain would lose. His hatred of McCain is clouding his better judgment.
