McCain may be looking like a loser but that is nothing compared to many of the losers that pass themselves off a FReepers these days. If I were in charge, I would purge those that hide in the sand and foment fear among the troops. I never thought FR had so many quitters and losers... but that cannot be disputed. Win, lose or draw... refusing to fight is a losing strategy.

“McCain . . . is “Weapons Tight” with specific targets declared hostile. The probability of success is much higher this way.”

I applaud your optimism. Nearly everyone here earnestly hopes you are right. But if, in a combat situation, you control your weapons so tightly that you never get around to firing them, you end up dead or imprisoned.

There is some evidence (the “Rein” commercial, for example) that the McCain campaign knows what it has to do and is planning to do it once Congress had done what little it can with respect to our financial mess. It may be that Governor Palin will unveil a new, aggressive campaign tonight. By the weekend the clouds may have parted and the sun may be shining brightly.

McCain has taken us from the valley to the mountaintop with dizzying speed before. Remember the prospect of Joe Lieberman on the Republican ticket followed by the selection of Sarah Palin.

But every conservative who follows politics has long experience with McCain's tendency to screw his friends and kiss his enemies. Even the most optimistic among us has to recognize the very real possibility that McCain will never get around to fighting the good fight in this election and that he will, therefore lose.

By this weekend we will know. If praying is your thing, this would be a good time for it.

Not a “wimp”. Just pacing himself for the last month’s fight. You’ll see.

Bush 1, the second time around, against Clinton the first time in 1992, DID NOT WANT TO WIN, NOT ENOUGH.

Bob Dole, DID NOT WANT TO WIN, NOT ENOUGH.

McCain DOES NOT WANT TO WIN, NOT ENOUGH.

You have to want it more than the other guy. None of these guys wants Presidential Power more than Clinton (twice) and now Obama it would seem.

When the GOP will stop nominating RINO saps without backbones is beyond me. Stupid Party. They could have had somebody who would CLEAN OBAMA's CLOCK, and show a true distinction between Conservative and Liberal.

Hey, but no surprise. This is what you get when you run a MODERATE and a Liberal.

So many of us saw this coming with McShamnesty, the nose-holders as well as the non-kool aid drinkers.

I predict there will be a Sarah Palin channel, and the 0bama channel will fit right in with the queer stations, the green idiots, and the Air America losers.

Shoot straight ... there are many targets.

I recieved this from a dear friend. Christians (if you are)must unite more than just at the ballot box.

Prayer Guide for the Presidential Election

It is critical that Christians pray for the upcoming
presidential election. There is amazing power in united
prayer. Please print this prayer guide and pray daily
until the election. Pray with others whenever possible. The
power of prayer can overcome any obstacle or ungodly
influence and, indeed, do great things!

Please forward this to every Christian you know.

09/26 - 10/02
II Kings 13:16 - Pray that the Lord would put His hands on
the man of His choice for president (and his team) and guide
them in this election.

10/03 - 10/09
Proverbs 1:5-6 - Pray that God’s man will listen with
discernment, add to his knowledge, and receive wise counsel
in this campaign.

10/10- 10/16
John 16:33 - Pray that the man of God’s choice would be
given wisdom and ability from the Lord to overcome any
obstacle or difficulty during this campaign.

10/17- 10/23
Acts 17:30 - Pray for repentance for yourself and for our
nation.

10/24-10/30
Luke 12:54-57 - Pray that God’s man and our nation will
be discerning and do what is right.

10/ 31- 11/06
Phil. 4:13 - Pray that the Lord’s choice for President
will have special strength and unusual ability from God.

11/07-11/11
Habakkuk 1:5 and 3:2 - Pray that the Lord would do
something that would utterly amaze us and give His servant
victory.

During the days of Nov. 4- 11, be encouraged to set aside a
time of fasting, if led, during these days to commit this
election to the Lord in whom we put our trust. Proverbs 3:5

Remember 2 Chronicle 7:14: ‘If my people who are called
by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face
and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from
heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their
land.’

Please join with us for this frustrating time in our
country.

McCain became the presumptive nominee with just 31% of the primary vote. He was not the first choice of most Rep primary voters. The rules need to be changed so we don’t have self-described mavericks being named as the party’s standard bearer. We need to eliminate winner take all and open primaries.

I thought he did fine and he was poking and jabbing at the whiner party. He point blank stated that zero is not fit to be the POTUS and he kind of basically said that those who elected him were totally clueless. That is what I got out of the interview.

Concerning the “life isn’t fair” quote anyone who actually watched the interview would see that he was laughing when he said it and was making a joke.

He was mocking them IMO.

>>And Joe Biden is ready to be president? Because he's a lying, plagerizing, stubborn, jerk - all he's ever had is the same year of experience 37 times.

I wouldn't assume that simply because Palin is attractive, that she has no brains. The “ignorant” factor is a media construct...the same one they've played on George Bush.”

Joe Biden would make a horrible president, as would Obama. The slate of candidates just don't inspire me either side of the aisle.

No assumption at all connecting Palin’s looks to her intelligence. I listen to her speak when questioned, it is her answers and or her grasp of the issues that concern me.

She's in the big leagues now. She has just been thrust into a pool of corruption, deceit, manipulation.

I feel for her. I'm afraid for our nation.

Thank you, New Hampshire and South Carolina, you have screwed the Free World!!

Have you already forgotten the role Mike Huckabee played in foisting him upon the public? There's some real strange s__t going on between him and McQueeg.

He was mocking them IMO.

He was dull, listless and looked tired. He also passed up chance after chance to blast O and the Dems, do you ever hear Obama or one of his lackeys being so polite? If you are an undecided all you saw was a boring old man. If you were a Dem you saw somebody who looked like he was on the ropes and ready to go down. If you're a partisan Republican like me you should have heard alarm bells going off. The fact that so many Freepers are hoping his VP candidate can turn things around should make it pretty clear that the situation is grave right now. Ronald Reagan he ain't and Bob Dole proved that being an old warrior on its own isn't enough. As far as I'm concerned we got stuck with him and now we have to pray for a miracle.

Ah yes, ideological purity, how Marxist of you. That is exactly the strategy used by DU, you're either 100% for Obama or you get banned. That may work well for a lib site since Obama was so far-left liberal to begin with but since FR is a Conservative forum McCain was never very popular to begin with. You would have to do quite a bit of purging.

As long as the Republican primaries are left open to Democrats and independents, we will continue to get RINO candidates.
