When it flipped him the bird he shot it.
It went after the gun so he shot it another time.
The hand continued to fight, punching him in the face repeatedly so he went to the kitchen for a knife to cut it off, but the hand grabbed plates and began to smash them over his head knocking him unconscious.
As the police hauled him off he was heard mocking his hand:
"Who's laughing now? Who's laughing now?"
Well, you’ll notice it WAS the hand and its brother they cuffed when they hauled them, and the guy, off to the pokey.
