I thought about this, but honestly, I expect McCain to turn her loose. And Gov Palin is by far the best (and only) person I can think of who has been able to intertwine the “maverick” message with the conservative message without the conservative message looking like an afterthought.

Palin is best when she is on the attack, because she has the charm to twist the knife without seeming shrill. The ideal would be Biden delivering pompous, over-complicated answers, which she then punctures with a witty answer. Biden will spend most of the time bashing McCain because attacking Palin head on is dangerous for obvious reasons. Alot of us are disappointed in Palin’s interview performances, but in human terms I can understand how hard it is to be thrust on the national stage the way she was. Harder than it looks for sure. It’s clear she spent her time worrying about Alaskan issues, not pouring over conservative blogs. But she has the natural talent to win this kind of forum with ease if she takes the right approach.
