Bosniaks is a real word. Biden didn’t screw up. Jesus Christ.
I nearly fell out of my chair when I heard that. What an incredibly stupid misake, and he realized it, he started stuttering after that.
I enjoyed that very much.
I don’t know about Bosniacs, but I find it really, really hard to believe that Biden spends a lot of time at Home Depot.
I think I heard Gov. Palin identify Senator Joe as “O’Biden” one time. Not excusing the Gaffe Master from Delaware, I’m just sayin’. (:^o)

Using a word that 99.9999% of the USA is not familiar with is a major gaffe in a televised VP debate.
It sounded like a gaffe to 99.999% of the USA, eve if it wasn’t.
As it often is, perception is reality in this circumstance.

Yeah, to be fair, this is a non-gaffe and a non-issue — although I doubt that his use of the term did Biden any real favors. It’s obviously unfamiliar to a lot of people, so they think he screwed up. Ha...Biden is a gaffe machine even when he isn’t a gaffe machine.
Then there’s Sarah’s pronunciation of Iran and Iraq as eye-ran and eye-rack. I thought that the contrast between that and Obama’s fancy Pahk-ee-stahn pronunciations in the presidential debate is pretty funny.
Being from Bosnia, I can tell you that the term “Bosniac” or “Bosniak” is perfectly correct and not an error.
I’m from Bosnia and the Muslims there are referred to as “Bosniaks” or “Bosnians”.
LOL! Someone on another site said that a Bosniac is a Bosnian in a Pontiac!

Interesting, but it does not change the analysis that it was a gaffe. It is a gaffe to use a word that your audience is not familiar instead of the word easily understood by the audience.
The audience tonight was the US voter, of which there are 7 who would realize that “Bosniacs” is even a real word.
For a politician
running for office,
it is a
HUGE
gaffe
to use an accurate term
that your audience
thinks
is a gaffe.
Bosniak is the proper term when you’re talking about the ethnic sub-group. Bosnian usually refers to all of the people of the region.
