What is the source of Sen. Biden's assertion that Sen. McCain "was surprised"? And is he telling the truth?
Biden: "Well Gwen, two years ago Barack Obama warned about the subprime mortgage crisis. John McCain said shortly after that in December he was surprised there was a subprime mortgage problem."
Linked is a November 4, 2007, video interview of Sen. McCain with the editorial board of the New Hampshire newspaper, the Keene Sentinel.
1) Sen. McCain was asked, "Were you surprised?" He affably answered "Yeah ... I don't know if 'surprised' is the word." Notice that "surprised" was not his word and he accordingly refined the question for clarity.
2) And what precisely was it at issue? Sen. Biden claimed it was the fact that "there was a subprime mortgage problem." This is not true. Sen. McCain is clearly alluding to "the dimensions" of the problem: "You know, I don't know the dimensions of this."
Yes, Sen. Biden misrepresented Sen. McCain before the American people, if this was the incident referenced.

Biden, Obama, and the Dems can get the upper hand in situations by lying with ease. Nobody really calls them on it until it no longer matters.

Riles me up too. But the communist machine has most of the MSM tied up solid and doubt much on this since there is so much Biden lied about, where in the heck does one start and air time is just too tied up.

The interest on their notes is described six verses later. Ain't gonna be no chucklin' over a bailout at that point. My regret is that I'll either be dead or in Obama's gulag by then, and I won't be enjoying the thread on FR.

We all know you like using other people's words, Senator Biden, and at least you're attributing them tonight, however, I'm sure Senator McCain would appreciate you not (air-quotes) "paraphrasing" him to his detriment. If you are going to make these demeaning statements about what you say he's said, you need to provide a reference so we can evaluate the Senator's true comments for ourselves.
Whatever he does, he shouldn’t give up his day job.
But, it makes it just crystal clear how in the tank the MSM is for Obama-Biden, that they NEVER, EVER dream of calling him on one misstep.......Oh, that's just Joe!
