The Ann Arbor News ^ | October 3, 2008 | Susan Oppat

An hour before Bruce Springsteen tickets were to be distributed for Monday's free acoustic concert at Eastern Michigan University, only 20 people were in line.

The first fan arrived from Grand Rapids at 4:30 a.m. Friday. Brad Berry, 54, has seen Springsteen about 15 times and saw Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama in May in Grand Rapids. He said he was alone until 6:30 when a second person showed up. And they were alone until 7:30.

All said they were shocked that so few people were in line.

there is not the enthusiasm that the MSM says there is. Of course Fox did the obligatory 15 minutes of putting this has been on the air like it was Woodstock revisited. What a Putz who can’t sing by the way - he always just had a great back up band. Also he had a pretty, gorgeous wife and dumped on her for that used up looking Patty Scaflia. Old news, everything about Obama is old news and thank God we have the freshness of Sarah Palin.

The rolling stones are like looking at a rest home sprung from their rockers. revolting. and how many times can you listen to “can’t get no satisfaction. when are the boomer men gonna to get some dignity and wisdom. never. i guess. you want rock star go to gateway pundit’s blog and look at Sarah’s post vp debate rally. rock star she is.

Forced Obama re-education camps required by the college administration next? So as to not miss out on federal funding for programs?

Building the future from the bottom up with Obaba’s civilian security and freedom corps. Yes we can! We’re going to get in your face.

“The next tip is to be absolutely ruthless,” Jocelyn Woodards tells the (Obama) campers. “We want you to be determined, ambitious, take a risk.”

Even if Obama loses this election, what is he going to do with his “troops” that he and Soros have spent so much money training?

Over the top? You be the judge...

Springsteen is so yesterday, I can’t see college age kids that excited about seing this guy who was mostly second rate anyway.

They probably would just snicker at some old guy who still thinks he is cool and matters.

The whole New Jersey music thing - Springsteen, Bon Jovi, The Jonas Brothers - I never got it.

East Coast Media Hype. That's all he's ever been.

Don't believe the hype !

His was the only concert I walked out of in 1981 because I couldn’t stop yawning.

I don't get the Jonas Brothers either, but discovering that we knew their parents was amazing to our kids.

I'll tell you why the Jonas Brothers sell..... melody and lyrics. They can be heard. My son is starting to play guitar and likes the Beatles , John Hooker, and Albert King stuff I've got laying around. Cause he can understand the words and play along. The new stuff like rap doesn't lend itself to repetition, I can't see my self or I guess they can't see themselves humming along and singing "Gin and Juice".... or any of the current rap cr#p.

Something with a melody and lyrics sells cause others can relate to the message. That's why country is getting huge, jazz tunes like "That's All" and the blues will always be around.

Jeff Beck and Clapton still attract a crowd cause they're good musicians. click here.... Like Knoffler mixing it up with Atkins.. great musicians always have gigs. listen to the melody... timeless

Funny. He couldn't fill an arena selling tickets, so he gives a concert away. He goes to the midwest and he can't even give a concert away.

He has aspirations of being a politician. Oh, go for it, pony boy. Go for it. I'd love to see a true intellectual tear you to shreds.

"old fossil like Springsteen. He must be near 60 years old!"

Careful, SatinDoll. You must be gentle in your descriptive phrases used regarding your worldly wise elders, lest they flame or ZOT you. ~<|;o)
