A British gardeners local council has ordered him to remove a 3-foot high barbed wire fence around his property in case thieves hurt themselves on it, the Daily Mail reported Thursday.
Bill Malcolm, 61, installed the wire at his Worcester property after burglars robbed his tool shed and vegetable plots three times in four months, stealing more than $500 worth of hardware.
But Malcolms local council told him the wire was a health and safety hazard and warned him they would remove it by force if he did not do it himself, the Mail reported.
The council said they were unhappy about the precautions I had made but my response was to tell them that only someone climbing over on to my allotment could possibly hurt themselves, Malcolm told the Mail. They shouldn't be trespassing in the first place but the council apologized and said they didn't want to be sued by a wounded thief.

Insanity.
In other news, the UK gets rid of it’s navy because all those guns and missiles might hurt an invading enemy.
Actually, the enemy is already in the UK.
And the UK laughs at our preoccupation with bosoms! What a bunch of idiots!
Poor old England. Trying (and succeeding) to destroy itself. What a sad state of affairs.
Roll over on your backs and show them your soft white underbelly. Cower and shiver in the corners of gloom your leaders have led you into. A good British citizen knows his place - a no man’s land between effete politicians and a feral underclass.
Gardening PING.................
Better not use any Sevin dust. It might hurt insects............
Nothing new.
I heard, years ago, about someone in San Francisco wanting to line the inside of their fence with cacti. The person was told they could be held liable if someone - someone that jumped the fence and was on the property illegally - got hurt.
I wonder what damage a 45 would do.Unreal I need to take a couple days off of this stuff my head hurts.
oh brother...libs, the bunch of them are dotty.
They already disarm homeowners, now they require them to remove barriers too?
His use of “my allotment” to describe his property sends a shiver up my spine anyway.
I brought my daughter to England last Spring, so she could see it before it was gone.
Can't someone in Britain wake up and stop the instanity?
Colonel: Come in, what do you want?
Private Watkins enters and salutes.
Watkins: I’d like to leave the army please, sir.
Colonel: Good heavens man, why?
Watkins: It’s dangerous.
Colonel: What?
Watkins: There are people with guns out there, sir.
Colonel: What?
Watkins: Real guns, sir. Not toy ones, sir. Proper ones, sir. They’ve all got ‘em. All of ‘em, sir. And some of ‘em have got tanks.
Colonel: Watkins, they are on our side.
Watkins: And grenades, sir. And machine guns, sir. So I’d like to leave, sir, before I get killed, please.
Two words come to mind in reference to the UK and this ridiculous article;
Sharia Law!
“What we don’t want either, is I think, a stand-off, where the law squares up to people’s religious consciences.”
Good with that UK...let us know how that works out for you...but quite frankly, this is exactly the kind of BS we are trying to avoid here in the good ol’e US of A.
LOL!!!
Alas, this is not just happening across the pond, it’s a pretty common ordinance in plenty places here in the USA.
Failure to discourage criminal activity is to reward it. And you get what you reward.
Um, excuse me here.
“Criminals” don’t—or shouldn’t—have any rights.
I can’t figure out for the life of me why some people don’t understand this simple truth. Shaking head. Protecting yourself/ what belongs to you is a basic instinct.
Mornin’ Gabz, all!
