Rev. Manning really sounds nervous. He is calling for a boycott of anyone and anything that supports Obama. He outright calls them fascists. He says Obama will destroy all the civil accomplishments made by African Americans.

Rev. Manning is animated normally. But he sounds passionately nervous about the urgency to stop Obama. The urgency in his voice got me scared.

Well that’s easy enough. I’ve never watched Oprah since it aired, I haven’t watched CNN in years, nor the networks, at all, not just news.I don’t even watch FOX that often. I get info from FR and the internet. I don’t click on MSNBC or such links. I click on smaller outlets which are left biassed, sometimes, to see opposing views. Small outlets that don’t make a difference. (Except I haven’t subscribed to my local paper in years, since that fish wrapper took a left turn).
I manage to still be more informed than most people I know, and boycotting CNN and the like doesn’t detract one bit from it. I still get info from them secondhand (You Tube and the like), which means somebody has to watch, to get it. We should have trusted “designated watchers” and the rest of us boycott.
If only the McCain camp had half the cajones of the good Rev.
McCain is losing this campaign because he refuses to fight Obama and his lies, and dirty tactics such as ACORN voter fraud. He’s just been rolling over (or bending over, I should say) and accepting the abuse heaped upon him- and expecially Sarah Palin.
The anemic attempts by the McCain camp to fight back within the last few days just ain’t gonna get it.
He should have been hitting Obama back hard months ago.
He needs to get out there every day and FIGHT BACK.

I really don’t care which word you insert. Let’s not lose focus of the thread. My thread was about Rev. Manning’s Video Channel. More than worth watching.

Rev. Manning actually addresses your point in the video. He says Obama won’t be stopped on issue ads.

Those who have lived under the tyranny of socialism more than the rest of us see how it destroys people. The good Rev clearly understands that another step in that direction will be terrible for all Americans, terrible for his ministry and terrible to the peole he ministers to.
Someone here at FR pointed out that McCain’s been a Senator too long, he seems to automatically function on that plane. And he’s done the “bi-partisanship” schtick too long (I say). He doesn’t seem to know anymore that a campaign, a national campaign, against determined socialists, is something in which you have to get down and dirty in the fight. They will, whatever it takes. If it takes smooth, pacifying lies, they can do that. If it takes manufactured outrage, they will do that. “The ends justify the means”.
I was fortunate enough to grow up with stories of a Mussolini Regime. My Mama Nome (the Great Mom, my grandma) made sure every one of us knew what living as a sharecropper was like. We knew so many stories, I swear I would have dreams and wake up thinking I actually lived in that village at some time.
I can appreciate what we have here in the USA. She made sure we did.

...my sentiments exactly. Larry King once asked Oprah...”what 2 words describe you best?” She said “secular, progressive”. (I read it, didn’t watch it) That’s when “O”, “Oprah”, “Harpo” ANYthing Oprah was kept out of the house. As for the MSM, it simply pollutes the mind. May as well be watching porn.
I have always believed that no American would knowingly, willingly, choose socialism and agree to allow our democratic Republic form of government to be destroyed. I have believed that they might be lied into it, choose it out of ignorance and misinformation, but never knowingly and willingly. I could almost change my mind about that now. Generations have been “educated” up through the school system and social services to believe that the state is there to take care of you, to do for you, while you have the “freedom” to merely live your life to be always amused and seeking pleasure. “Bread and circuses”.
Aw heck, I would need to write an essay about this, to say what I think, and I’m starting to wonder, what’s the use, everyone here already knows it, and the rest don’t know or care, or support it. As has been said, my one satisfaction, if it comes to pass, is that those who shouted the loudest, supported it the most-the most useful idiots-will be the first against the wall. They think they will be in on shaping the grand utopia, but they don’t understand that those pulling the strings have other ideas, and the idiots will be the ones most in the way.

I agree. I don’t do “women’s shows” anyway, they look pathetic and shallow, and I despise sitcoms and TV drama and “reality” shows. What’s left? Turner Classic Movies, and even there the agenda is starting to show. Thank God for my years of taping and that of others, and for ioffer :)

I could not agree with you more. Your observations are very astute. If you ever get around to writing your essay, I would be very interested in reading it. I always get a new perspective on freedom when I read what it means to others.
