Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin remained in the dark while her husband repeatedly asked top state officials to help get his former brother-in-law kicked off the state police force, Palin's husband and top aides said in affidavits provided to The Associated Press.
Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee, is the focus of a legislative investigation into whether she abused her authority by firing the state's public safety commissioner to settle a long-standing family dispute. The commissioner says he was fired after resisting pressure to fire Mike Wooten, a trooper involved in a bitter divorce with Palin's sister....

I am really struggling to put my hands on the alleged “scandal” here... I don’t mean whether the “charges” are true, but what was done wrong assuming the charges are true?

This thing is a vote-getter for Palin. I hope the drive-bys beat this drum long and hard. This silly “investigation” just endears the Palins to voters across America.

Playing the hypothetical, I suppose the wrong would be that a governor used the power of the office to relieve an underling of his job because he failed to do her bidding on a personal family matter. This is patently not the case, however it seems to be the *scandal* that has all these anti-Palin folks with the undies-in-a-bunch.

Meanwhile Obama campaigns and endorses Rail Odinga, whose supporters killed and raped people, and who signed a pact with Kenyan Muslims to inact Sharia Law if elected.
