A failed economy will only help the socialists
Smerconish gives oral nightly to Chris Matthews...
Yes, and then Smerconish asked about Smerconish's own handguns, Obama said he supported the 2nd, and that it was an individual right. But that there needed to be regulation and tracking, for example like in Philly to keep cops from being shot -- so Smerconish asked about Mumia Abu-Jamal, a late seventies radical Black panther and convicted, yet not yet executed, cop-killer. Mumia is a cause-celebre amoung the Hollywood-type elite, with the Europeans. Obama said that he was unfamiliar with the case.
And Smerconish said that was cool, too.
The Mumia Abdul-Jamal case is a franchise Smerconish owns, Smerconish has co-written books with the murdered policeman's widow. Yet it was okay and fine that Obama, under the tutelage in the late-seventies of another black radical, Frank Davis, "did not know nothing".
And it is okay too, to use Mumia's full name, but to use Obama's full name gets Smerconish into an O'reilly-esque dither.
Meantime on the other Philly talker -- 990 AM -- Bill Bennett was doing a great, exhaustive interview with Stanley Kurtz about the whole Acorn-Ayers-Obama issue. And it is an issue -- the most important one of this campaign, despite the dithering of the pansies.
Beware the Sal Pal interview.
ESPN is a den of libs (See Olbermann, Keith and Shuster, Suzy) and Sal Pal is a ton smarter than your average sports guy - he covered Philly politics extensively back in the Frank Rizzo days. He’s also one of ESPN’s toughest interviewers.
If Sarah thinks she’s going to nip in, talk some Seahawks and hockey, and nip out, she may be in for a big surprise.
Smerconish masquerades as a middle-of-the-road Mr. Logical, but in truth is a flaming lib lawyer who thinks the world revolves around him and private life. As a true Conservative I can't stomach this officious a**hole. You can hear the glee in voice every time McCain or Palin get bad press. He's always happy to report it.
First, Smerconish asked if Obama was familiar with the Mumia case and Obama said no but he hadnt studied it but he was for either death or life imprisonment for people who killed cops.
Then the Ayers question was raised in the context of "I take it at your word that you didnt really know him but what do you make of McCain bringing this up" sort of way (I told you, softballs). Obama poo-pooed it and said he didnt agree with Ayers, and he served with businessmen and republicans on the same board and McCain was just trying to change the subject.
Hey, Ayers bombed NYC Police HQ! He tried to kill many police officers! Obama said people who kill cops deserve the death penalty but he works with Ayers!?
Amazing. And no follow-up. Puff piece.
