WEST ALLIS - An illegal immigrant convicted of running down a West Allis mother and daughter faced sentencing Thursday.
The child died in a West Allis intersection four months ago Thursday.
The maximum sentence for causing death while driving with a revoked license is only nine months.
That's what Jose Rodriguez got but there's a catch.
It was an extremely emotional time for the Maddox family.
Thursday was the first time Andrea Maddox saw the man charged with killing her daughter and injuring her as the two crossed the street in West Allis

Thank you, Juan McCain and Barack Obambi! |

This poor mother can thank Bush, McCain, and Kennedy for this.
That is an ironic statement, considering that Laura Bush once killed someone in an automobile that she T-boned running through an intersection. She received no jail sentence. Just saying.
Another thing for which to thank our imbecilic politicians!
These liberal pansies (almost 535 of them) have screwed up this nation and it's economy to the extent that we'll be reduced to Third World Status in short order.
Of course the answer is to flock to the polls next month and pull the lever, or punch the chad for a proven Marxist leader. Let's get it all over with quickly.
Totally different circumstances.
Your post is on the snarky side, if you ask me.
I you feel that Laura Bush did something that compares to the gravity of what this illegal invader did, then your sense of reality is warped.
Perhaps you should do some research on the subject.
Or not.
I suspect that you will simply scream and yell at me, trying to convince me that you are not a snarky DU operative, but...oh well.
I think the part that got to me the most was the very end, stating that he faced “possible deportation.” Is there a reason we would keep this guy IN the country once his time’s been served?
She must have received no jail sentence because it was an accident.
Just saying. (and yes, you made a really snarky statement)
One think is indisputable. It wouldn’t have happened if the illegal hadn’t been here.
Was a senator’s daughter raped or a congressman’s son murdered?
No?
Move along.
I didn’t see any mention of alcohol or even negligence...
Yes, he shouldn’t have been here, and yes, he didn’t have a license, yes he was driving illegally.... but how is the fact he’s an illegal alien have any relevance?
Jail sentences for even fatal accidents are pretty rare, and good ol’ red blooded American citizens have such accidents all the time....
We need to stop “deporting” people. Might as well just hand them an invitation reading “Y’all come back soon.” Getting deported is hardly a scary prospect for somebody sitting in Mexico considering whether to cross the border into the US illegally. Do the math — there is upside potential, but no downside potential. People caught here illegally should be imprisoned and forced to do hard labor. And let’s not forget that the reason that option is off the table is UNIONS, which don’t want any cheap labor competition for any reason.
I imagine she was here legally AND had a valid driver’s license at the time.

Well at least when he gets out of jail and Obama is president he will be able to get a drivers license!
Of course, in reality, they could care less about this womans dead daughter.
“but how is the fact hes an illegal alien have any relevance?”
Because HE should have never been here driving on our highways! A child is DEAD because of these silly excuses. That’s why!
Thankfully our current administration and whoever runs the next have strong records on border security :(
How so??? Other than the fact that the person killed was a pedestrian instead of driving in a car. I wasn't attempting to be snarky, just pointing out that it seemed a little ironic to blame Bush for this death when his wife had done the same thing in her youth. Both people are equally dead.
People go to jail all the time these days for accidents. Besides what she did fit the definition of vehicular manslaughter according to the Texas statute.
