I moved to TN only recently and wonder how Corker & Alexander could have gotten elected esp Corker.

The Republican Primary was a 3-way race between Corker and two more conservative candidates. The conservative vote was split between Hilleary and Bryant and Corker won. Then Corker ran a close race against Harold Ford Jr, with hardly a dime's worth of difference between the two.

Alexander has shown some conservative tendencies through the years but, unfortunately, has turned into a Beltway Republican that we have drag kicking and screaming back to his constituents' conservative values all too often.

“Lamar!”

I still picture that clown wearing a plaid shirt. It was about as foolish as Dukakis driving the tank.
