"This is indeed a Vanity of Vanities. It is all about you. A grievance with the McCain campaign can be emailed to them directly or commented on without the emotional outburst of claiming, falsly, that McCain has surrendered the election. Such drama. Why are you throwing in the towel over anything McCain says or does? Ignore him if you must, but he is the Republican presidential nominee and the next president will be John McCain, American patriot, "

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I was with you until the "American patriot" bit. I'm sorry, but anyone who takes $300B from the American people to pay for moronic people's mortgages is NOT a patriot.

Call me crazy, but this election is a decision between the republic or socialism. If socialism wins out forget about any fair elections.

I agree completely. But I fail to see how voting for the Democrat or the Republican poses a remedy to that dire eventuality. Both paths lead to the same bitter end.

100% correct my FRiend.

Like it or not, our government will be a socialist government after January.

It is a two-edged sword. McCain is ticking off a lot of his base with these stupid statements. He is a fool to follow the MSM’s lead. So what if they call him a racist? It may actually help him because people don’t like these tactics.

If it is the will of God, I would hope our FRiends would come to their senses, even yet, and begin a grassroots campaign to lift up a dark horse. If FR would pick it up and lead, it could be done, and we could win. After all, whipping a dark horse is much better than beating a dead horse.

To me, that would be Alan Keyes. As a Reaganite, he can bring together all of Conservatism.

Unfortunately, I doubt the RINO pimps would let such a thing occur, preferring to lose than to admit their defeat was due to Conservatives pulling away.

Strongly, strongly agreed.

A 3rd party candidate will not win this year. But if enough people support one, there might be enough for a Perot-like groundswell of True Conservatism in 2012.

“I have to tell you, he is a decent person, a person that you do not have to be scared [of] as president of the United States."

I am at a loss for words. He just undermined his own attack on Obama's judgment/character. The wrong person is at the top of the ticket.

Just to clarify, Politico is reporting the woman did not use the word terrorist, she said I’ve heard he is an Arab and McCain then cut her off.

Has anyone found out her name yet?

I disagree with you there. I take it you've never seen what FR can do when it speaks with one voice. When this place gets righteously pissed, it can move mountains. Just ask Dan Rather.

Of course the candidate also has to have broad appeal, especially to the Christians, largely because of their stand-alone $$ sources and networking (another reason I think Keyes), because 3 weeks has to be one helluva grass fire, and the Christians are the best source to really get that to happen IRL.

As far as FR goes, why it can do no good now, is that it is not righteous, and everyone knows it. There is a lot of rah.rah.rah going on, but no one can really defend this party or this candidate at all.

I'd like nothing better than to see a groundswell here to abandon this POS and pick up another... Cuz if they mean it, Katie bar the door.

Of course, even if it would fail, you are correct that it sets up conservatives for 2012.

***That aint gonna happen. But there’s been so much spiritual warfare surrounding these candidates that I see it entirely possible that McCain suffers a debilitating illness such as a stroke. Then what? Pres candidate Palin, and... Thompson? Hunter? Someone that will keep the RINOs from bolting, like Lieberman?

my suggestion is that we move to red states en masee, and vote to secede from the union.

You know, that could very well happen someday...

[Alan Keyes] has the voice of Kermit the Frog and not a scintilla of the personality.

Even if it were true, and I strongly disagree, he is inherently a thousand times better on every position than John McCain. He will certainly put up a more cogent argument for Conservatism than McCain can even begin to conceive.

Bear in mind that I wish no ill upon McCain- I hope he has a long and happy life, sitting on his front porch farting into his diapers, yelling "Get off my lawn you damn dirty kids!" from time to time, burping contentedly, and mumbling incoherently from time to time about his strawberries- And I hope he begins doing so tomorrow.

That being said, McCain OFF the ticket would send Republican stock trough the roof, and might even get a 1%er like me to pull the lever...

But I really doubt the Bakerites would turn Palin loose on the top of the ticket- They have kept her on a leash so far. And the idea that they would allow a Hunter or a Pence to rise up is to deny all reality. They WILL suppress Reagan Conservatism, because the moment the Reagan message reaches the people, the Bakerites are voted out. You know it, I know it, and they know it.

They govern with Whimpy's promise: "I will pay you on Thursday for a hamburger today..." GWHB gave us Quayle, W gave us Cheney, now McCain promises Palin... But somehow the Conservative they borrow to get them to office never makes it into office themselves. Thursday never comes.

It is all a "bait and switch" game.

Even worse, I think it was "I will gladly pay you the second Tuesday of next week".
