America's Second Wake-Up Call!
IBD Editorials ^ | October 10, 2008

Posted on 10/10/2008 6:11:15 PM PDT by Kaslin

History is important to study... if you can trust the national media to not withhold key information they don't want you to see or twist daily news to fit their agenda.

In the last 40 years, there have been nine major surveys of editors and reporters who work for national media. The most they ever voted Republican in a national election was 14%; the more common range has been 4% to 7%.

This is one reason why no matter who wins a political debate, the media almost en masse repeatedly tell you their man won. And most voters who don't pay close attention will believe them. It's called coordinated propaganda.

What were the most consistently repeated and strongly asserted slogans you've heard over the last few years? "We're losing in Iraq . . . we must get out . . . it's costing us $10 billion a month we could use here at home . . . we're not any safer . . . the surge won't work."

Well, the surge in Iraq has worked, we are winning decisively and, as a result, now have a new democracy and strong ally in the Mideast. Meanwhile, seven years have passed since 9/11, and we still haven't had another major terrorist attack on our soil.

Yet the media give no credit at all to President Bush, the only president to do something about the terrorist attacks that we had suffered repeatedly beginning in 1992.

With the economy slowing and a weak financial market created solely by our subprime mortgage mess, what do we keep hearing now from the media in hopes the majority will believe it and vote accordingly? "The mess is caused by eight years of failed Bush economic policies, including the tax cuts for the rich that should be rescinded."

We all need to wake up on Nov 4th and give the Marxist gangster from Chicago his walking papers. I am good and pissed about the media bias, including some so-called conservative pundits throwing in the towel. And I am mightily pissed at even the suggestion that McCain is bowing to the hyper-sensitive pansies in the press that are throwing a hissy fit just because some of us are vocalizing our anger toward this travesty of an election. Ironically, this anger will translate into my being ever more motivated to vote for McCain. Then I will spend the next four years DEMANDING that he and Palin crack down on the anti-American ememies within, ACORN and other assorted freedom-haters who would nullify our constitution with their criminal activities. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I am fully awake and don’t need a wakeup call.

IBD has been a consistant voice in the wilderness supporting Conservative values. Subscribe to them and encourage your friends to do likewise.

I liked the ending of the editorial:

“””Finally, history shows that since World War II, our best results-oriented presidents were Truman, Eisenhower and Reagan. They were much older — in their 60s and 70s — more experienced and made sounder, more productive decisions. The three youngest presidents — Kennedy, Carter and Clinton — all had more problems, particularly with national defense and dealing with dangerous dictators that were threats to America’s security”””””

It took decades for the MSM to become saturated with lefties and it has been for decades and that includes the sports people

The commies run the colleges and turn out a new boatload of lefty journalists each spring

You wonder why they never see the light ( except for Bernie Goldberg )

They must NEVER spend anytime really thinking on any issue

Here is the problem, they are not blind, they know exactly what they are doing. There has never been a campaign like this, with the media so in the tank for a candidate. I don't know what makes me angrier, these anti-American red diaper doper babies in the media, or the official-looking Obamanoids in places like Missouri who are threatening anyone who speaks the truth about this gangster. There is no doubt but that America is on a collision course with a very dangerous future, one which will no doubt result in a lot of unrest and a lot of us having to take back our country. DO NOT for one minute think that we can just vote in a republican majority in 2010. It will not happen. Look at what is going on in PA. We have to fight for our country NOW! This is our last chance to say NO MORE to the socialists and their whores in the media.

I noticed the hanger’s-on Noonan and Brooks, have gone all effete and trembly at the power current that is Palin, and at the notion that once notably apolitical Americans are waking up with a sense of urgency about not only the economic forces - but the political forces in operation in the land. Oh, I’ll be voting too.

American Democratic Socialist Republic, HOW DOES THAT SOUND TO YOU? NEED WE SAY MORE?
THE CHOICE IS CLEAR! PUT ASIDE YOUR ANGER TOWARDS THE OBVIOUS AND LOOK BEYOND TO THE FUTURE. “WE THE PEOPLE” CAN BE USED NOW, TODAY BUT MAYNOT BE HERE TO USE TOMORROW IF WE LOSE OUR FOCUS ON WHAT WE AS AMERICANS ARE ALL ABOUT.
Obama the trojan horse has been groomed for this position for most of his life through his associations with a racist, a terrorist, a criminal and thier affiliated radical groups. You may not like Mccain but you know for sure he is an American hero, who loves his country and made that sacrifice many of our family members have in years gone by. They are speaking to us in volume's

This is a great article. It is relatively short and effectively explains why the media is biased, how the mortgage mess came to be, who tried to fix the problem before it got out of hand, and who resisted. Should be required reading for every American.

I'm going to email a link to this article to my contact list.

I start counting Muslim attacks against the US with the 1979 taking of our embassy personnel in Iran. We also had plenty on Reagan’s watch as well as Clinton’s. Curious, Bush has only had one. Of course he has been killing Muslims ever since.

Kennedy, Carter and Clinton

Age had nothing to do with it. They were Democrats, and the latter 2 didn't like America much.

Reagan couldn’t do more because of the cold war. The Soviets wouldn’t go for it if we took over the middle east and changed the “correlation of forces”. They had client states in Egypt, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and Syria, and would have protected Iran against US attack.
