I never liked Mitt because of his flip-flopping but the #1 issue right now is the economy and Mitt sure knows the economy. He could be a very reassuring person at either the top or second place part of the ticket. He sure would blow everyone else in the race out of the water when it comes to speaking with credibility and authority on economic issues.

>>>The real question is: Where is Mitt Romney NOW?

He formed a PAC to rasie money for Republicans this election shortly after his consession speech at CPAC. He has been stumping for McCain all summer and now for Palin since she was chosen. He is raising tons of money for them and 30 other critical races.

I agree Huckabee and Rudy and Gingrich too would have clobbered Barry.

Yes. He would be far more conservative than McCain, especially on such issues as immigration and global warming. He is a far better debater and not a Washington insider. And any conservative Rep would be better than McCain. Palin has proven that you can energize the base. Mcain would have no chance without her.

As much as I’d like to say otherwise...probably not.

Romney cleaned Lou Dobbs clock on CNN last week. Lou was so upset the next day he was still bad mouthing him. Mitt has already said he is not interested in a cabinet level position and he is not the nominee so its all water under the bridge.

I find it interesting the invective a select few posters still launch Mitt's way, (who appear on every Romney thread and by "pure chance" also appear on any Mormon related thread)

McCain and Rudy were liberal enough their supporters were banned. 75% of Freepers said they'd vote for Mitt right before super tuesday. Sure it was after Fred and Duncan dropped out but a third place FR finish isn't bad. He passed the most conservative litmus test there is by winning a clear majority on FR.
