I can't stomach the thought that people who were flipping homes and kept borrowing against the increased equity of their homes are now going to be “rewarded” at the expense of taxpayers who chose to live within their means and acted responsibly. This is an opportunity to let The McCain campaign know what you think.

McCain is as clueless about this economic mess as Bush and Obama are.

Its just stupid. Of course McCain said Obama is a decent man, we shouldn't be afraid of him being President. Some days I think he's the reason why we're poised to elect the most left wing Administration in American history: not McCain but Obama.

The government should stop rewarding the irresponsible and saddling the responsible with the bill.

I have one:

If home values are declining, why are my property taxes still going up? And why does the state not down value my home?

Make it a law that if a home has been devalued, property taxes are adjusted accordingly.

McCain voted for the socialist bailout. Now he wants to give another $300 billion to those who overpaid for their homes! He's making Obama look like a sober fiscal conservative! I don't get it.

The only housing fix I would be for is taking a portion of the bailout money and offering any soldier who has served or will serve in Iraq or Afganistan a fixed rate 3% - 30 year home loan for their service to our country. That would take homes off the market across the country and aid in stabilizing prices. It would also help the military in their recruiting efforts. I don’t think any patriotic American would be against it.

Admittedly, I was a bit hot ‘n hostile while composing this ‘commentary’ to McLame site ...

Are you just out of your freakin’ maverick mind ???

First you sell us out with the freakin’ Wall Street Bail-out, larded over with Dem/Lib/Lefist pork payoffs to the lamers that got us into this mess in the first place.

Now, you want to pile on another whole $#!T sandwich of bailout for irresponsible lamers who bought in over their heads in a speculative Real Estate bubble in hopes of cashing out big — somehow ! — later before the bubble burst ???

I pay my own way; own my own outcomes; don’t lean on ANYONE or ANYTHING else to make it. I’m solvent but watching my 401k and IRAs melt away because of what you’ve allowed to happen up ‘til now and NOW you want to bury us even deeper in this $#!T storm ???

I STILL HAVE to vote against Obama, but that doesn’t mean you win any beauty constest, lamer !!!

I’ll still be holding your loser feet to the fire from day one, presuming you pull your head out of you @$$ and figure out how to win this thing.

Wise up and toss this losing notion !!!

Hope I’m not alone in my sentiments, even if my chosen expression is somewhat over the top.

I want a new car even though I owe more money on the old one than it is worth. Can I restructure my loan so that I only owe what the car is worth now?

Who ever said local Governments are not just as corrupt as the Feds. Most of them require the homeowner to take the time and effort to require the new assessed value be considered. The intent is that most people are not aware and their interest is the higher tax. They make it as hard as possible.

"McCain Campaign Seeks Input From Public on "Homeowner Resurence Plan".

John, why don't you seek input on HOW TO WIN THIS ELECTION instead of discussing a "Resurgence" plan with the lumpen masses?

Most people don't even know how to pronounce "resurgence" and if they did, they'd think it's what you do when you've had too much to drink.

Oh, we are SO screwed!

McCain is as clueless about this economic mess as Bush and Obama are.

But McCain has Carly Fiorina to advise him. (barf)
