It's a few days old, so I hope this hasn't been posted already. I can't work the search function too well.
I would hope Sean would stop using this as his opening song in light of this, but he probably won't even hear about it. I doubt if Martina agrees with Peters, so I wouldn't punish her, but I wouldn't send any royalties towards Peters.

"The fact that the McCain-Palin campaign is using a song about an abused woman as a rallying cry for their vice presidential candidate, a woman who would ban abortion, even in cases of rape and incest, is beyond irony," Ms. Peters says in an e-mail.Whats beyond irony is the woman who wrote a song condemning domestic abuse is linked in any way with Jackson Browne, who once beat up Daryl Hannah.

Peters is the writer she gets the royalties, Mcbride does not. Performing Artists do not receive royalties for Airplay. Only the Writers and Publishers receive them.

Isn’t this hannity’s theme song?
To: Rastus
Ok...e-mail Martina and the rest of the gang about where the royalties are going. Ask them to not sing any more of her songs.

Another artist who wishes she had been aborted.

at this rate the republicans are going to have to settle on “twinkle twinkle little star” as their theme song.
that should be public domain by now, right?

I wish ALL of the McCain/Palin songs would move to Brooks and Dunn, or Aaron Tippin, even Trace Adkins, country patriotic is the way to go! And it gets votes.

jackson brown beat the crap out of Darryl Hannah when they dated. A moonbat beats a moonbat. What a guy... what a dim... a real good source to draw music from. NOT!

It sounds like Gretchen Peters is a baby killer.
Please don't confuse this Gretchen with Gretchen Wilson. Gretchen Wilson is on our side. She is not a Communist. Gretchen Wilson is also an awesome singer.

Ms. Peters says she donates any royalties from the song accrued "during this election cycle to Planned Parenthood in Sarah Palin's name. I hope with the additional income provided by the McCain-Palin campaign, Planned Parenthood will be able to help many more women in need." What a b!tch!!

I would love to see Sarah use Johnny Horton’s old song “North to Alaska.”
