McCain tussles with Palin over whipping up a mob mentality
The Sunday Times ^ | October 12, 2008 | Sarah Baxter

With his electoral prospects fading by the day, Senator John McCain has fallen out with his vice-presidential running mate about the direction of his White House campaign.

McCain has become alarmed about the fury unleashed by Sarah Palin, the moose-hunting “pitbull in lipstick”, against Senator Barack Obama. Cries of “terrorist” and “kill him” have accompanied the tirades by the governor of Alaska against the Democratic nominee at Republican rallies.

Mark Salter, McCain’s long-serving chief of staff, is understood to have told campaign insiders that he would prefer his boss, a former Vietnam prisoner of war, to suffer an “honourable defeat” rather than conduct a campaign that would be out of character – and likely to lose him the election.

I saw a few clips of McCain taking ??? from folks in a town hall style rally.

They were asking him about all the things we see posted about Obama here at FR.

He repeatedly said Obama is a good decent man.

Way to go John. /sarc

Obama is a thug, and nothing less.

No he isn't. He's a nice guy. Yosemity Sam said so.

Also realize that this story will be regurgitated in the Aussie papers, Ireland, NZ and Cananda. The nonsense will probably be picked up in western Europe as well.

Middle Eastern money buys a lot of influence and media. Fox has a sizeable amount of ME money invested. The sh*t can feed through most of Murdochs other media properties (newspapers) . If he starts to run it through Fox TV News in the U.S. then viewership will tank. Fox TV News has been miving a bit leftward anyway.

IGNORE this crap people and the polls.

“McCain needs to wake up to the fact that this young, inexperienced, short-term junior senator (BARELY) defeated Mrs. Inevitable and the Clinton Machine for the Democratic nomination.”

I can’t remember when there has been a more important election as this one. Sen. McCain’s mindset reminds me of some FReepers early on. Telling the truth, a candidate’s record, so voters oould be well informed was
called ‘bashing’ by them.

If Obama is elected with all of his anti-American history, our country would suffer irreparable damage. If John McCain refuses to inform the populace, he will be as much at fault as Barack Hussein Obama.

GO SARAH!

That was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the clips of him answering folks at a town hall meeting/rally.

He kept repeating Obama is a good Decent man.

Or howabout we go to Obama rallies, shout “Kill Whitey!” and watch how the MSM and the Secret Service completely ignores it?

We don’t even know if he said “honourable defeat” in any context. Stop repeating propaganda. The entire story is TOTAL disinformation filled with lies to depress Repub turnout and cause division in our ranks.

Or these kinds of releases could be laying the groundwork for the possible crash on election night. Note also that there have been several articles suggesting that the Dems could get a filibuster-proof Senate.

It is difficult to say. McCain is being McCain. There is no figuring him out. I am beginning to think McCain is more interested in being a campaigner than in actually being president. He has been a media darling for the last 8 years. He likes that. His run for the presidency gives him allot of face time on TV. He likes that.

Since Sharia Law has taken root in Britain, it looks like misery likes company! You bet the Muslims want to take down the U.S.. Why else do you think they are financing Obama?

Great compilation of links!

Thank you!

The “kill him” and the “terrorist” people were plants.

I can’t imagine conservatives being so overt. ;o)

“Sarah Palin is no fool. She sees the same thing and wants to salvage what she can. She is positioning herself for the future. Her best days could be in front of her.”

If this is true, then she has some explaining to do. She is supposed to be helping McCain, not climbing over him to reach the top. Surely she’s not that kind of person.

Hubby, who said just yesterday that he’s not going to pay any more attention to this election because it stresses him out too much when he has too much to do, looked at an electoral map just a little while ago and declared that this election is going to be a landslide. For McCain. He predicts California will go for McCain. Well, I don’t know how good his instincts are on this, but it would sure shock the mess outta me.

Sarah is going to win in spite of John. John is so used to conceding to the Democrats in the Senate that he forgets they are not now nor have they ever been his friends. Just get out of the way John and we will get you elected in spite of yourself.
