Its like theyre DELIBERATELY trying to tank the markets. Maybe it's part of the shakedown - you know, give us some money and we'll say the bailout is working. Others have done it and gotten money.

That could be the democrats undoing!! Food stamps and more ‘goodies’ that the American taxpayer has to pay for is not going to fly in this country right now. PERIOD!!
People are already pissed off at paying off the mortgages of people that should never have had one in the first place.
The dems are trying to start a class and race warfare in this country right before the election. They think the republicans won’t touch it with a ten foot poll....I hope they are wrong.

There was a post on FR Saturday a.m. about Huckabee saying on Fox that economic terrorism was being looked at as the cause of the meltdown. I left to run errands and a couple hours later the thread was gone. Did I miss it or was the thread pulled, and if so, why?
Anyone know?
I didn't see the thread you speak of but I believe this IS economic terrorism. The timing has been all to perfect for it to be otherwise.

SUNDAY: IMF Warns- "World Is On The Brink Of Financial Meltdown"
And they don't even have to say
"Vote For Obama, He is THE ONLY ONE that can SAVE US!!!"
I understand the markets/banking system needing to get corrected
after all the unsustainable activities in the USA mortgage markets
and even the real estate/spending orgy that even afflicted
the UK, Iceland, Spain, etc., etc.
But given the huge sell-off despite fundamentals, I'm not dismissing
the claim of Huckabee's friend that there's some kind of market
manipulation causing the (to a degree) part of this crash that
just seems to defy financial reason.

This is beginning to sound awfully close to a one world economy system. I read about that happening somewhere that would be the beginning of the end....hmmm yeah I remember Revelations.

Not sure what to think of Paulson or Bernanke...but I don’t view them quite as negatively as I did the first week this came up. I have read articles that they are doing all they can to push back the socialist tide. It would be different if we knew that the republicans would retain control of the WH and at least hold a filibuster proof minority in Congress. They could work to untangle the government’s role in private industry as the crisis eases.
But all bets are off if Obama wins and the dems get filibuster proof majorities. Our country will be socialist in 2 years. Mark my words.

Financial crisis: Government to take majority stake in RBSI was within a whisker of taking a job with Royal Bank of Scotland, which I assume RBS stands for.
I am sooooo glad I did not.

Maybe it's just temporary and after the election things will get back to normal. Maybe it's bad...I don't know but I'm skeptical because we go thru an economy crisis every 4 years. New houses are still going up. Banks are open. Gas is down, and there is plenty of food available. I was just hired for a new job and got a credit card in the mail a few days ago. I'm taxed to the max but I still manage to pay the bills. Life in America could be worse. Much worse.

I’ve beenb watching him carefully through all of this. During his press conference Friday evening he seemed so nervous, edgy, very worried. The vibes coming from him have been so negative. He hasn’t said anything positive in all of this that would give us hope that it can be corrected. After Lehman fell and he went to Congress it was reported that he painted a very dire picture. We just don’t know who to trust any more.

The huckster spoke about economic terrorism last night on Geraldo. He didn’t name names or anything specific, just wink-wink its probably a dem strategy to get bho elected.
